Victorian Christmas Holiday Homes Tour

09/01/2018

Mark your calendars for November 30

Tickets for the tour will be available the first week of October at The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston and on the EEHDA website. Tickets are limited.

EEHDA will host its 29th Victorian Christmas Holiday Homes Tour from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, November 30th.

The tour will feature four East End Historical District homes festively decorated for the holiday season. Additionally, the EEHDA Cottage will be open for light refreshments, and guests will enjoy a variety of holiday music at the EEHDA's Darragh Park, and at some of the residential locations.

The elegant historic homes of the East End Historical District are the architectural products of skilled European immigrants during a time when Galveston was the wealthiest city in Texas. These homes were designed for wealthy merchants and entrepreneurs wanting to display their wealth and impress their neighbors.

The proceeds of this event directly benefit the EEHDA and its continued efforts to preserve, protect and maintain the historic and architectural value of our neighborhood and historical sites, such as Darragh Park, Alderdice Park and the East End Cottage.

The East End Historical District was designated a National Historic Landmark and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The EEHDA was formed in the 1970s to preserve and maintain the heritage and livability of the East End neighborhood.
