During the past 12 months there has been very large interest from individuals wanting to commence their own commercial ventures, in particular in the Whyalla region with over 21 enquiries.

The establishment of these ventures is not always immediate and not all enquiries result in the venture being established.  RDAWEP has been most supportive in assisting clients with research, feasibility studies, cash flow budgets, start up costings and assisting with the development of business plans. RDAWEP can also direct people to appropriate government support where required.

Small business is still one of the biggest employers in our region and it is encouraging to see so many people wanting to ‘have a go’ at developing their ideas that will improve both the economy and employment in the region.

It is also good to see our constituents prepared to get out there and give it a go. RDAWEP looks forward to meeting The Hon Martin Hamilton-Smith MP, Minister for Small Business in Whyalla in early May and discussing with him the possibility of government support for small business start-ups.

  1. Thankyou RDA

Your helpful advise and encouragement has been quite valuable to helping my new business venture maintain it’s clarity of vision and having a set of eyes within the government that also provides great leverage for our ideas. I look forward to continuing to work with the competent staff in the Whyalla office of the RDA building. Together with the insightful assistance of the RDA team i am very confident that SOUL SUMMIT Adventures will prosper as a business that may employ South Australians in the tourism sector. Thanks again.
