Promoting European Convention of Human Rights among law students

The European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe (CoE) supported the organization of an International Law Moot Court Competition for the law students of Georgian Universities, by the Ministry of Justice.

On 21-22 July 2018 semifinal and final rounds were held in the Kakheti region. 120 law students took part in the contest. The winners were selected by a jury consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Justice and human rights experts.

The aim of the competition was to enhance knowledge of international law and human rights among students, as well as of the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights and their implementation.

The event was organised in the framework of the European Union –Council of Europe joint project “Strengthening the Application of the European Convention on Human Rights in Georgia”, within the EU-CoE Partnership for Good Governance.
