ABOUT THE AWARD

The Coalition believes in celebrating the leadership skills of Canadian youth who are making a difference in their schools and communities. Established in 2014, the NUFSICISUM Youth Leadership Award recognizes outstanding youth leaders from across Canada who are actively working to effect positive change through music. The NUFSICISUM Award was named in honour of Phil Nimmons, Canadian jazz legend and Canada’s oldest working jazz educator, who continues teaching music to young people.

NUFSICISUM (read it backwards!) winners will receive a plaque recognizing their achievement, $200 in prize money, and leadership opportunities within the Youth4Music program as a Youth4Music Ambassador.
