IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Home County has learned of the creation of a new music and art festival scheduled to take place in Victoria Park in July 2024.

We would like to clarify that Home County is not involved with the “London Music & Art Festival” in any way, and we were not consulted in regard to the use of our name, logo or history in any marketing materials or announcements.

Please be assured we remain an active organization, even with the cancellation of our 2024 festival, and are committed to spending this year planning for the future.

  • Determining the Future of Home County

    To help determine the future of our much-loved organization, the Board of Directors has formed the Future Directions and Sustainability committee. The purpose of this committee is to make recommendations on the future development of the Home County Folk League, including consideration of the Home County Music & Art Festival.

    A group of dedicated volunteers, comprising of Board members, Festival organizers, industry professionals and the general public will spend the next few months reviewing options for the future of Home County. The goal is to continue to meet the needs of local artists and performers as well as the greater London community in a way that is sustainable in the future.

    The outpouring of support over the past few months has only demonstrated how much this organization and Festival mean to us all. To those whose efforts have provided almost 50 years of memories in Victoria Park, to those who have promoted the League's mandate to support local folk music and art, and those who continue to show up - thank you.

October 19, 2023 - This morning Home County announced the cancellation of the 2024 Festival. Details are in the attached press release but the key takeaway is that we've cancelled and are in the midst of assessing what the future looks like for both the festival and the Home County Folk League. This has been an incredibly difficult decision to make and our hearts are heavy as we share this news.

Moving forward, the Board of Directors will be presenting a situation analysis and recommendations to our members at the Nov. 28th Annual General Meeting and we'll share further details after that. If you have any questions in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact us at info@homecounty.ca
