Costa Rica: Know the protocol provided by the MEP to attack bullying in the LGTBI student population

The Ministry of Public Education (MEP) officially presented this Friday the protocol for the attention of the bullying against the LGTBI population that is found in the educational centers of the country.

In the MEP they wanted to take advantage of the celebration of the Day Against Homo-Lesbo-Transphobia to expose a group of counselors, psychologists and social workers how this new tool should be used.

The document identifies several recommendations addressed to administrative personnel on the way in which a case of discrimination due to sexual orientation or gender identity should be addressed.

The purpose of this protocol is to provide a safe and equitable environment for the integral development of the entire student population, which encourages the fulfillment of Human Rights.

Promoting and using an inclusive language, as well as sensitizing the teaching staff on issues of gender and diversity are just some of the objectives outlined in this initiative.

Other changes that call attention is that you must respect the name that anyone chooses to be identified, allow the use of the health service that corresponds to the gender with which it defines itself, as well as the dress code.


Conozca el protocolo que brinda el MEP para atacar el bullying en la población estudiantil LGTBI

El Ministerio de Educación Pública (MEP) presentó este viernes de forma oficial el protocolo para la atención del bullying contra la población LGTBI que se encuentra en los centros educativos del país.

En el MEP quisieron aprovechar la celebración del Día contra la Homo- Lesbo- Transfobia para exponer a un grupo de orientadores, psicólogos y trabajadores sociales la forma en cómo debe emplearse esta nueva herramienta.

En el documento se señalan varias recomendaciones dirigidas al personal administrativo sobre la forma en la que se debe atender un caso de discriminación debido a la orientación sexual o la identidad de género.

La finalidad de este protocolo es brindar un entorno seguro y equitativo para el desarrollo integral de toda la población estudiantil, las cuales fomentan el cumplimiento de los Derechos Humanos.

Promover y utilizar un lenguaje inclusivo, así como sensibilizar al personal docente en temas de género y diversidad son solo algunos de los objetivos que se traza esta iniciativa.
