A joint exercise to be conducted by Finnish and Swedish authorities in November will focus on how to respond to emerging threats in the information environment.

The purpose of the exercise is to enhance cooperation and coordination between Finland and Sweden and to train public officials to identify, analyse and respond to attempts to influence through information.

Around 40 public officials from Finland and Sweden will participate in the exercise, which will be held in Helsinki. The joint exercise, now taking place for the third time, is organised by the Prime Minister’s Office and the Swedish Government Offices in cooperation with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (Myndigheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap, MSB) and the Riga-based NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (NATO StratCom CoE). The exercise will be led by Vesa Valtonen, Secretary General of the Security Committee.

In addition to Finnish and Swedish public officials, experts from the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence will take part in the exercise.
