Mr. Gupta was recently named by Harvard Business Review on its 2019 list of top 100 CEOs in the world. He is the only Southeast Asian on the list and one of the 4 of Indian origin. In 2019, DBS bank made the distinction of concurrently holding 3 of the most prestigious global best bank honors.

Haq Ki Baat is a Childhood Cancer Survivor led Advocacy and Awareness Campaign to ensure that Childhood cancer becomes a child health priority in India which engaged all stakeholders including hospitals, nurses, parents, schools, colleges, and government, etc. This year, Uttar Pradesh is the focus of Change for Childhood Cancer. It has the highest childhood cancer incidence in the country – at over 14500 new cases each year it accounts for almost 20% of India incidence of 76800. It may be noted that only 40% of kids with cancer in India survive against survival rates of 90% in developed nations of the world.
Sandip Yadav, 24 years old, an Ewings Sarcoma Survivor and Vikas Yadav, 22 years an Eye cancer Survivor whose families had to relocate to Mumbai from Uttar Pradesh in their childhood, for their cancer treatment, accompanied by APML survivor Jishnu Mullick originally from West Bengal and Bhumi a cancer survivor from Gujarat, drove from Mumbai to Lucknow, where they were joined by 7 survivors- Akriti, Shashank, Sugandha, Ruchi, Armaan, Abhishek, and Kapil Chawla. They were flagged off by the VC KGMU Mr. Madan Lal Brahma Bhatt on September on 5th September 2019. They drove 610 km from Lucknow to Varanasi and back to Lucknow on the Cankids' 8th Access to Care & Childhood Cancer Awareness Car Rally 2019 covering Jaunpur, Amethi, and Sultanpur.
On reaching Varanasi, they were joined by 4 survivors other - Sitara, Tithi, Vishal, and Rahul and together with all 15 survivors they marched in the constituency of Prime Minister Modi to demand Childhood Cancer to be a child health priority in India. They asked Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Sh Narendra Modi in his constituency Varanasi – who’s popular talk show "Mann ki Baat" reaches out to the people of India - “Mr. Prime Minister –Why does my birthplace have to decide whether I survive or not?”

Last year our Kidscan Konnect Survivors worked very hard to GO GOLD Maharashtra. They spread Childhood Cancer Awareness, Lit up Gold monuments across Maharashtra like Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal, Gateway of India, Bibi ka Makbara in Aurangabad and Shanwarwada in Pune. They led an Access to Care Car Rally across 1100 km in 4 Divisions of Maharashtra and asked people to take the pledge that childhood cancer should be a child health priority in our War against Cancer in India. They succeeded in their mission. In February 2019, Cankids signed an MoU with the Government of Maharashtra; because of which now we are working with the Government of Maharashtra and in all cancer hospitals treating children with cancer in Mumbai & Maharashtra.

Varanasi: This year, Pediatric Oncology Social Support Services Conference ( PHOSSCON 2019 ) was held at Banaras Hindu University, Uttar Pradesh from 6th- 8th September 2019 - in parallel with 23rd Annual Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Conference ( PHOCON 2019 ), where 75 delegates from 28 NGOs participated across the country.
PHOSSCON is a parallel track started in 2016 after discussion between the PHO Secretary (Dr. Brijesh Arora) and Cankids, akin to SIOP (International Society of Pediatric Oncology) and Childhood Cancer International on an international level.
Its a platform where NGOs working on childhood cancer meet and deliberate ways to enhance synergies. The 4th PHOSSCON was organized CanKids...KidsCan together with JivDaya Foundation, HOPE Foundation & Umeedien. It was a great success and we thank the 28 NGOs and 75 delegates for making it so.
The conference lasted for 3- days where 6 sessions were held during the conference. In one of the sessions, the teams deliberated on the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer that asks all LMICs to improve survival rates to 60% by 2030 thereby saving an additional one million lives. The session was led by Dr. Ramandeep Arora- Pediatric Oncology, Max Hospital, Delhi and Honorary Head, Quality Care Research Impact- CanKids and Ms. Poonam Bagai Chairman, CanKids...KidsCan.
On 6th September- an awareness program on ‘Childhood cancer’ was organized where the conference's participants took part. It included a Walkathon - from BHU Campus main gate to Ravi Dass Chowk where the participants performed sloganeering with the key message “Childhood cancer is curable”.
Simultaneously Doctors, Pediatric Oncologists from all over the country gathered for the 23rd Annual Conference of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Chapter (PHO) of Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. at the same time on 7th and 8th September. The conference was organized by the Division of Hematology-Oncology, Department of Pediatrics, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University with the theme "Breaking barriers, Expanding Horizons".
Also, Light up Gold at Ghats and " Mother Ganga" was organized to show solidarity for all children affected by childhood cancer and their families.

“India response is vital, and through both the Conferences the pediatric oncology community of Doctors, researchers, Civil Society organizations, and patient groups, we will work out plans, next steps and working groups on all different aspects that will need to be addressed to make this happen, “ said Dr. Mamta Manglani, President of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics.

New Delhi: North India’s leading healthcare provider, Max Healthcare celebrated the spirit of joy through Nidarr Hamesha Campaign from 17-18 August 2019. The campaign aimed to honor the will power of the cancer survivors for beating the fatal disease and boost them to live a quality life. During the campaign, brave warriors who have survived the most life-taking disease cancer were felicitated.
Cankids being the only NGO in the country that is working for children with cancer and their family was awarded in the event organized at Shahjahan Hall, Taj Palace, New Delhi.

New Delhi: On 3rd September 2019 Cankids' 7 children with Cancer- Patients and Survivors- Bhawana Kumari (10 years),
Mohammad Sameer (13 years), Rimsha Ansari (15 years), Sneha Neuroblastoma (14 years) , Nitin Kumar (15 years), Sitara Khan (22 years ) and Kapil Chawla (35 years) - proudly lead a session on physical activity and participated at the WHO's SEARO - Be the Change programme for the 72nd session of World Health Organization's Regional Committee for South-East Asia held in New Delhi from 2-6 September 2019. They were privileged to exercise with Regional Director, WHO SEARO, Health Minister of India Dr. Harsh Vardhan and other ministers and WHO delegates from across 11 member nations of WHO SEARO.
The Be The Change (BTC) programme of WHO advocates physical activity, healthy lifestyle, and well-being. Leading the exercise to the adapted music track Wavin' Flag by K'naan, our children who are fighting a war against cancer showed that indeed they are special and strong and can encourage others to lead a healthy life.

During the event, our survivor leader Ms. Sitara Khan along with others recorded pledges from many delegates including Dr. Henk Bekedam- WHO Representative to India and Regional Director, WHO South-East Asia Region - Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh for the "Say No to Pain" pledge campaign which aims to collect 100,000 pledges for the 10 million people in India estimated to have serious health-related suffering.

New Delhi: The 11th Annual National Childhood Cancer Excellence Award Program has been successfully held on 29th September at New Delhi & was a hit among the parents, survivors and our guest. The Award honored children with cancer who have either survived the disease or are undergoing treatment and applauds their achievements even in the face of adversity.
In the past years, over 8000 childhood cancer patients and survivors have participated where each has received a medal and a certificate, and 157 children have received the Excellence
awards.
This year, 1400 children participated from 33 cancer centers across the country and 27 of them were awarded for their outstanding achievements in academics, creative field, and extracurricular activities.

Cankids Participated in the Daan Utsav (Giving Tuesday) this year from 2-8 October 2019 and celebrated the Joy of Giving.
Daan Utsav also marks the beginning of Cankids’ 3-month Festive Season Campaign for fundraising. It will cover and spread the holiday cheer through Diwali, Children’s day, Christmas, New Year and culminate in Makkar Sakranti.
Special thanks to all the 40 restaurants across Maharastra who helped us raise funds by displaying these tent cards at their restaurants during Daan Utsav and to Survivors across the country specially Lucknow and Delhi.

This Diwali, Cankids introduced a new way of gifting. 2 years back, one of Cankids' Supporters wanted “Gift Certificates “ which she could gift instead of a box of sweets to her friends and family. It was this idea that evolved and resulted in this year's Diwali Campaign. It took on like a house on fire, our friends and donors bought Gift Certificates- different colors represented different levels of Contribution - Yellow Card( Rs 500 ) supports a child with Cancer for one Week, Green Card ( Rs 1000 ) supports a child for 15 days, Orange Card ( Rs 2000 ) supports a child for one month, and Pink Card ( Rs 25000 ) supports a child for one year .

Lyon, France: Team of 3 Poonam Bagai, Sonal Sharma and Sandeep Kumar from CanKids, together with Dr. Ramandeep, Vikramjit Kanwar and Dr. Shruti Kakkar from our medical advisory participated in the 51st Annual Congress of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) & Childhood Cancer International (CCI) which was held from October 23-26, 2019, in Lyon, France. SIOP & CCI aim for a world, where no child should die of cancer. Every year the Paediatric oncology community, doctors, scientists, psychologists, patients, and survivor groups meet to share results, experience, difficulties, progress, and new tools, enriching each other. The CCI congress is a unique and magical event where each caregiver can add their personal touch to improve knowledge or meet others to learn, care and share.
This year, an abstract was submitted by Chandan Kumar, Acute lymphoblastic leukemia Survivor, and Sandeep Kumar, an Ewing's sarcoma survivor, and selected for oral presentation on the topic " Survivors are learning and leading the research to manage their long term side effects". Sandeep took English language classes and overcame his nervousness and stammer and did a terrific job, earning him applause and admiration for his grit and determination.
Moreover, posters from Dr. Shruti Kakkar from Bhatinda Dr. Sanjeev Dhingra from Jammu as well as Max Hospital acknowledged Cankids' contribution as vital.

New Delhi: We are remorseful to share with you all that Cankids' dear friend and family member Birendra Karki who is also working as a Senior Executive, PNAFE, and as a Parent Support Group member lost his son Master Elvis Karki, who suffered from Acute lymphoblastic leukemia – T-Cell and was being treated in AIIMS – POD. Although he had a small journey, he touched many lives and inspired us all. So we will ask you all to spare a moment of silence in respect to his memory.
