About this event

LEO in Berlin (Lithuanian Expats Organization in Berlin) and Global Lithuanian Leaders are pleased to invite you to the Lithuanian Professionals Forum in Germany 2020, which will take place on the 25th of January in Berlin at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Federal Republic of Germany.

We are more than happy to see the growing audience of the Forum bringing together Lithuania - affiliated professionals building their careers in German heavy and creative industries, startups and large corporations, universities and research centers.

In order to match as many interests of the audience as possible, we have developed the program meant to demonstrate the variety of career paths Lithuanians have taken here, illustrate the diversity of possibilities of professional cooperation with Lithuania, as well as engage the audience into the interactive discussions how to make it tighter, more effective and more abundant.

  • 11:30 Welcome word from the Organizers LEO in Berlin and Global Lithuanian Leaders and our host the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Federal Republic of Germany.
  • 12:00 Keynote Speakers

1) Dr. Danguole Hackel, LL.M, Counsel, Eversheds Sutherland

Dr. Danguole Hackel advises clients on all aspects of commercial and corporate law as well as on the sale and acquisition of companies. Danguole studied law at Konstanz University, at Vilnius University (Lithuania) and at Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (doctor juris). Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, she worked for renowned international law firms in Moscow, Munich and Hamburg.

2) Karolina Matutyte, IT Performance Manager, BMW Group

Karolina Matutyte is currently an IT performance manager in automotive Industry. Besides that she works additionally on her MSc degree in IT Management. Her academic and professional background led her to focus on interface between business requirements and supporting IT solutions, its optimisation and technological possibilities in the future. With enthusiasm she is interested in possibilities and opportunities to support especially Lithuanian IT companies in business development.

3) Dainius Kniukšta, Senior Digital Product Manager, Maersk

Dainius is a Sr. Digital Product Manager at Maersk, heading digital product development with the vision of enabling self organisation within port and sea ecosystems. Counting over 15 years at Maersk, Adform, Vilnius University and WorldOne Research, he has led various SaaS and ML product developments and, in collaboration with academia, spread the love for cloud computing among small-medium enterprises in CEE. In his spare time, Dainius works with startups, plays chess, travels and fiddles with internal combustion engines (yes, old-school!).

  • 15:00 II PART: Interactive Workshops

1) Lets promote Lithuania as Leader in High-Tech Products and Services // Definition of Lithuanian Export Strengths. Moderator: Šarunė Šablevičienė, Commercial Attachée of Lithuania in Germany.

2) Lets connect Locally for Global Network Effect // Facilitation of New Networking Opportunities in German cities. Moderator Lina Ducevičiene, Project Coordinator at Global Lithuanian Leaders.

An important aim of this Forum is to offer networking opportunities and foster debate among up to 50 participants from all over Germany. Through your participation, you can help develop issues to be explored further by the project and be fed into the policy debate.

For registration to the forum, please fill in and submit the RSVP until 20 January 2020. If we receive more applications than there is conference capacity, we may have to limit participation.

The admission fee is 30,00 € and will be used to cover the lunch menu price. We will ask to pay it at the door or transfer to us in advance.
