The long-awaited, long-anticipated and groundbreaking Boeing 777X is already on track to explore the horizons above the ground for the first time.

It is hard to say that the road of the 777X from its launch in 2013 to its maiden flight has been easy. The seven-year flight has been rather turbulent.

But the time has finally come for the world’s largest twin-engine jet powered by world’s biggest commercial aircraft engines GE9X to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Who Plans to Fly the 777X?

According to the data provided on Boeing’s website, as for the end of 2019, the company has secured 309 orders for the 777X type of aircraft.

In addition to 299 orders from the airlines presented above, there is also an order for 10 Boeing 777X planes from an unidentified customer. In total, the number of orders reaches 309.

Due to significant shifts in delivery timeline, some airlines have revised their orders or dropped some bookings. Nevertheless, the latest data indicates that these airlines will fly the 777X.

The current plan, in case all goes as it should go, suggests that this year Boeing will complete all the tests and get necessary approvals to begin aircraft deliveries already in 2021.
