Just one more author writing about pathetic and ridiculous female characters! She is obsessed with him for 5 FUCKING YEARS after being thrown away as garbage. While he misses her sooooooooo much that he FUCKS ALL WOMEN AROUND (again). And do you think that after knowing that zeroine has some self-respect and leaves the loser behind and moves on?Noooooooooo we all need to read about THE PATHETIC friendly approach of a group of women who were all fucked by Zero and then LET HIM FUCK HER WITHOUT A CONDOM while his current girlfriend waits at the bar. I think these authors are confusing the dark genre with the same ridiculous crap as always. So we're just having the privilege of rereading a book that has already been rewritten thousands of times!🤦‍♀️

“What happened last night?” she asked before finding an oversized T-shirt on the floor and putting it on."

“You joined my harem, apparently.”

“Excuse me?” she asked while sifting through her suitcase for underwear."

"You got very drunk,” I explained in annoyance. It actually really pissed me off. She went and made a deal concerning my life with Gavriel Moretti, and instead of being panicked like she should have been, she got completely drunk off her ass with my rotation of pussy. I hadn’t really dipped my dick in a while, but it was still uncomfortable to see them all together joking. Not because I was embarrassed. No, it was uncomfortable because seeing them all together just affirmed that Butterfly, Luna, and Roxanne paled in comparison to Roe. She was all I could see, and that terrified me."

Oh! And let's not forget that our "Zero" also killed the "zeroine's" mother. Why? Well, apparently she was depressed and was in danger of killing her own daughter. So what does our brave hero do? Does he try a psychiatric intervention? An internation ?? NOP, he poisons her! And what does our "zeroine" do when learn about what happened? Give him a 7 hour silence treatment !!!😱😱 You go girl!!! 👏👏👏👏🤦‍♀️But of course she understands him! The intention was good after all! How could we call it dark if no more cliche was added! So now you already know the reason that H had to treat h as shit! Completely plausible!🙄🙄🙄

And the epilogue? Yes, in the epilogue we have a big birthday party for the h with all the "harem" of women he fucked! Yes! They all became great friends and according to H "a family" !!! How romantic is that?!!😒😒

Just pleeeeease stop with this disgusting shit! 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

5 STARS!

what a beautiful duet! my heart is all over the place after finishing this duet oh my 🤣 so in A Lovely Obsession, we have Roe aka Pretty Debt, being mysteriously protected (or rather watched ) by a stranger. he turns out to be this man named Hunter, and he seems to know every bit about Roe ever since she was a little girl. Roe's childhood was bitter and tough. Her mom was obsessed with death and the fact that Hunter knows things that Roe doesn't, she's instantly mortified. What exactly is Hunter's motive? This man who bugged literally ALL of Roe's devices had me facepalming, but it seems that his obsession only grew stronger now that he is seeing her in real life. Lots of secrets are revealed towards the end. Roe and Hunter are tied to an unexpected incident involving their parents. and then we have the cliffhanger ☹️

A Lovely Confession picks up 5 years later. This time, roles are reversed and Roe's the one hunting him down. Hunter has become her obsession. The amount of angst and intensity was definitely more than the first book! I could say the same for their sexual tension. there's lots of push/pull drama and even more confessions. Will Roe still accept Hunter after knowing the truth?
this was a phenomenal read, super emotional and intense with all the twists and turns. it was concluded beautifully as well. 5 stars!! 😍🔥

“You can try fucking everything that moves to get me out of your memory, but no one will ever feel the way I do.” - Roe (i LOVEEE her character)

I can’t even put into words what an amazing conclusion to this series this book is. If I could give it ALL the stars, I would...and more! I cried, I felt, and I loved with my whole heart and soul. All I’ll say is he ready for the ride because...WOW!

“You can blame me, Pretty Debt.” 😭😭😭😭😍😍😍

I enjoyed the conclusion of this duet.
Loved the push and pull between Hunter and Roe.
And how the obsession was flipped so Roe could really feel what Hunter had gone through with her.
It was action packed, slow burn, great banter and unique side characters.

I have been waiting for this book since I read the last one. It played over and over in my subconscious as I tried to fathom how it would end. In some ways the story lived up to the hype. In others it didn't. I enjoyed portions of it like the poetry but the ending felt rushed and left me feeling meh. I felt that Roe and Hunter needed more of a resolution after the big finale/climax.

Still, it was good and I love this author.

“Wherever you go,” I (Roe) began. “I will find you. I will chase you down. You can never escape me.”

description

The moment I finished A Lovely Obsession, I HAD to download this baby & get the conclusion of their story. The first reason is because I didn’t pay attention to the fact it was a duet & would end with a cliffy, but it was also due to the fact that I was obsessed with everything that was Hunter & Roe. After the bombshells that were revealed in book one I needed more. Call me crazy for loving their dynamic, but.....
description
.......I’ve come to peace with the fact that my literary preferences in “romance” are completely screwed up.....I’m okay with it!

I loved the intensity and suspense of book one, but book two blew it away with the level of angst & the support characters introduced. This was one of those that I truly questioned whether it would have a HEA or not, regardless of the feelings revealed. A Lovely Obsession needed an explosive “finale” and CoraLee delivered in spades.

Overall Plot/Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Plot Pace/Speed: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Roe Palmer: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hunter Hammond: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Angst Scale: 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Steamy Scale: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Book Facts:
Told in: Dual POV, present day (5 years after the events of ALO.
About: The second & final installment of the Debt of Passion Duet picks up with Roe five years later with a still “missing” Hunter. Once the obsession is now the obsessed, determined to hunt down the hunter. But when she finds him, the reunion will not be what she expects. She’s determined to make her his, he’s determined to scare her away. But the desperate measures she took to locate him might be the very thing that brings them together, or could one last confession tear them apart forever?
Safe Read? Yes, but it does contain some sexual situations that may make some readers uncomfortable as well as some gang violence.
Ending: conclusion with epilogue.

My Thoughts:
There were so many things I loved about this book....some of those were some of the very same things that I’ve seen others complain about. First & foremost, Roe Palmer herself. Where some see her as a weak & stupid heroine for how she “falls” at his feet despite how he reacts or treats her, I saw it as strength and a much deeper connection. She was willing to take his crap because it was so much more than surface level & stemmed from a lifelong love. As for Hunter, if you didn’t have a soft spot for him in book one chances are that book two may send you into “hating” territory. He is cruel at times, but I promise there is a solid reason behind it.

While I loved the two mains and the entire clusterfuck that is their love story, the highlight of the book for me was the secondary characters introduced. From the Bullets guys & Sunshine (who obviously have a series of their own) to my favorite girl gang EVER......the Hunter Hammond Harem (or Triple H for short).
description
Luna & Butterfly are by far my FAVORITE female support characters ever. They are odd, they are definitely free spirited & “out there”, but they are also the coolest most unique characters ever created. I want to be in their girl gang.....I’m seriously hoping they have their own books eventually.
And the confession that is revealed is one that honestly shocked me.....I didn’t see it coming.
description
.....I WAS NOT PREPARED.

If I had to have a single complaint, I felt like a lot of the last chapters were overtaken by the Bullets & Sunshine’s storyline. Because I haven’t read their series yet (I’ve started it at this point), I’m not sure if it was just the result of loose ends needing to be tied up or if fans of the series needed more.... I’ve been there, I get it. But as a result, it felt it took from vital space needed for Roe & Hunter.

My Verdict:
description
As if you even need to ask based off the ridiculous amount of gushing I’ve done thus far. Whether you loved ALO or not, this is one you shouldn’t skip out on. The angst pushes the limits, the sexual tension and results of such are intense & steamy goodness, and the plot is devour-worthy. Much like the first installment, it gripped me from the start & absolutely consumed my time and heart.....and it was worth every bit.

“Because this means something,” I said, answering his questions. “Because you and I are fucking inevitable. No matter what guilt you’re still harboring. No matter the age difference, our past, our future, and your job. This”—I gestured between us—”fucking means something. Obsessions have purpose.”

This was deliciously dark and angsty, and so very messed up. And completely addictive. Freaking obsessive and twisting my emotions all up like that.
It's taken five years, but Roe has finally tracked Hunter down. But he's made a life for himself. Without her. She gets her closure and tries to leave, only to be drawn deeper into the gang world of violence and blackmail. And she has to bring Hunter back with her.
Borrowing the Bullets trilogy from KU as we speak. I need more. And sleep is overrated.

WOW! WOW! WOW! What a wild ride! What a rush! What a read! I have to confess that A Lovely Confession was my action-packed adrenaline and my could-not-put-it-down OBSESSION! I was OBSESSED with and OWNED by this romance. CoraLee June brilliantly brings characters to life that captivate and combust in a journey of heartbreak and healing.

I couldn’t stop reading this book until I trusted that these characters found the light to guide them out of the dark. Roe ... oh Roe! I felt like an extension of this heroine, so close to her that I was thrust inside her head and heart. I felt her spirit ... strength ... and shattered heart. Hunter was a hero I hated a little and loved a lot. I LOVED these kindred spirits so much who MELTED ME with their darkness mixed with light! These two imperfectly perfect and shattered souls made each other whole.

”Let your damage breathe.”

Deliciously dark, thrillingly twisted, and emotionally explosive, this page-turning tale is the sweetest torture. Chaos meets combustion in A Lovely Confession, a captivating story of strength, salvation and soulmates. A heart-pounding roller coaster of danger, desire, and delicious tension that left me breathless, bleeding, and begging for more.

”You and I are fucking inevitable.”

💋💋💋💋💋 thrillingly twisted and heartfelt kisses

A Lovely Confession is the conclusion to the Debt of Passion duet This novel picked up 5 years later and was fast paced, emotional and captivating. You will be hooked from beginning to end and be unable to put it down. With angst, twists and turns, cameo appearances and amazing characters this story will evoke a range of emotions from you and you will love every minute of it. As an added bonus we get the inclusion of poetry which really added to the story. I enjoyed this novel and I would recommend it to all lovers of angsty romance.

Yeaaahhh... this book took a turn for the worse for me.

For five years Roe obsessed over Hunter.
For five years she tried to get over him but couldn’t.

She said she was trying to get closure, but seeking out a mob boss to find Hunter and not expecting any repercussions? That’s fucking dumb.

She gets his location from the boss and the first thing she sees is Hunter with a girl. Of course she does. Why do all of these romance stories have to involve other women so much? it’s infuriating.

After learning he’s fucked his way through the entire small town, hearing from his own mouth that he doesn’t care (who cares if he’s lying? He SAID IT) she can’t leave him alone because duh... the mob boss took her friend and gives her two days to make Hunter go back to working for him. Obviously, why should she be surprised? Idiot.

He continues to be a jackass to her, hate-fucks her in the storage room of a bar and she lets him.

After everything, he admits he’s the one that killed her mom, but he had reasons. It was to protect her. And yet now that he’s admitted that out loud, he’s allowed to start acting like he cares about her? Now that she’s “done with him.” And after a few days, she’s basically on the road to forgiving him, loving him, and suddenly he can admit that he loves her.

This whole situation is ridiculous. The first book was good but the second one was all downhill from there. Disappointing.

Hunter. Roe. Hunter and Roe.

One of my absolute favorite couples from CoraLee June, and that’s saying something. I also don’t think I’d love them as much if someone else had breathed them into existence. I think CJ was meant to do that with them, meant to create them and give them life.

This duet is thrilling, intoxicating and demanding. It hurts. It lashes out and strikes. But it also soothes and encourages and loves. Oh gosh, the love. Sometimes it can be pure, sometimes toxic, but it is always them. Always a Pretty Debt and her Stalker.

If I thought CoraLee June had brought her A-game with ALO, then man did she bring her A+ game with extra credit with A Lovely Confession. You can feel how she poured herself into this one and it payed off in spades. This book is insanely good, it was everything I hoped for and more. And the poetry, wow. Yes. I’m just in awe.

I loved getting to dive back into the world of the Bullets, they all own pieces of my heart. Hunter and Roe now, too. What an incredibly special world. I never want to leave.

This duet is just so, so special. It’s going to stay with me and I’m absolutely okay with that.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

A Lovely Obsession : 3.5 ✰

I gotta admit, the author's writing style is really good, if not for that I don't think I would even rate it 2. I didn't like MCs in this part. No matter how much Hunter hurt and pushed Roe away, she would go to him ever fucking time without making him work for her forgiveness. I mean c'mon! Can't we have at least 1 heroine that has even the tiniest bit of self respect for herself?

As for the plot, the blurb says it all. 5 years after Hunter left Roe, she decides to seek him out as she misses him. Due to Hunter lying low, it gets difficult to track him down so she uses help of a mob boss. You can figure out the rest🙄

I didn't like the story as much as I hoped to - what with stalker-romance being my jam but I liked author's writing style.

This was a disappointing sequel. There was no character development. We completely lose the stalker/obsession in the second book. The first book should've just ended on a HEA. The MCs being separated for 5 years and her turning up to find him having plowed his way through the small town he was in AND befriending his whole harem, was just not for me. I hated it. It just kinda ruined their entire "destined to be together, fated from the beginning" vibe. Also ruined my investment in the couple. I understand why he pushed her away, but he just lost all his gumption and appeal. He rolled over and gave up and just started screwing everyone who was willing. The second book wasn't bad per say, but it didn't do the first book justice. Prequels are always better than sequels. The most redeeming part of the second story was Butterfly, loved her character.

I wasn’t even 20 pages into this book and I had to close it from second hand embarrassment for awhile. The girl, Roe was an idiot! This man stalks you for years & then leaves you and you find him 5 years later fucking other women, treating you like shit obviously NOT missing you and yet you not only stay but let him fuck you without a condom? 🤔🤔

I’m soooo sick of these books with the OMG DROP dead gorgeous men who are SOOO good in bed. Why is the book never about how insanely gorgeous and bad ass the woman is? Sick of every women “staring in awe” at the guy in the book. The cashier at the hotel “gawked” at him and hardly seen her standing there *eye roll*

Then in the end he just changed his mind and wants to be with her? Lmao.

It was a crazy journey but great until the very end! Hunter Hammond drove me a little mad and at times I wanted to scream...but this was a page turner for sure. Roe had so much inner strength to never give up. To keep her faith and belief in Hunter. She knew his very soul and felt their undying connection. Until she could connect with Hunter again and prove to him that they were worth a shot. The roles were switched. Roe was stalking Hunter down. But the ANGST...oh Lord! I didn't know if my itty bitty heart was going to survive it. Hunter put me through the wringer and somehow...I loved every single minute of it.

This is one of the best favorite duets that I’ve read in awhile. The entire pace of the book felt perfect and it picks up five years after book one with know Hunter being Roes prey so to speak. Everything comes full circle in this book and at times I was on pins and needles waiting to see what would happen next but even with all the ups and downs I wasn’t disappointed at all!

Breath taking

The story of Roe and Hunter took my breath away. I'm also unsure if any book as made me want to throw kindle as much as this one. They both grew emotionally so much between the two books that you will get sucked in and left wanting more from them. A must read

this is the second book in a duet so its going to be filled with spoilers. be aware!
do you know when a book is so bad it's almost good? this book is bad, there are things that make no sense and make me so mad. however, i was enjoying my time reading this. make it make sense.
this follows the characters 5 years later and roe is now obsessed with hunter. she finally tracks him down and the story goes from there.
where i think the book was saved for me:
- roe's poems
. "Loving you is like dipping your toes in wet concrete. You’re tempted by the idea of permanence, then get stuck when it hardens." i loved this!!
- nicole and roe's friendship: i loved it so much. roe's development was amazing and im so happy these two made an evolution and are now best friends
- sunshine and the guys: i honestly loved them. i found out they have a series and its a reverse harem so it makes so much fucking sense now!!
- roe now sees/ calls mack her father. yes, im more interested in this relationship than the actual romance
- the friends roe made at the small town> there was also no other woman drama: they decided to be best friends cause men ain't shit and i love that!!
now....
im sorry but hunter ain't it. what the fuck.
1) he causes physical pain to our fmc multiple times.
2) she has been searching form him for years and he goes like "yeah, no one fucks you like i do" hmm you need to be humbled, which takes me to my next point
3) he didn't make her come. twice. so stop acting like you have the best dick in town because you are the dickhead.
4) the "plot twist" was so weird because that was his excuse to not be with roe but it happened years ago and didn't stop him in the first book so wtf??
5) he said he loved her since she was a baby ?? didn't sit right with me
6) roe deserved so much better

also: how did the "spiritual" girlie in town look at roe and found out everything about here?? i am confusion

in conclusion, i wouldn't necessarily recommend this duet but they weren't the worst thing i've read. do with that what you will

Original review

This book was provided by the author through Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Coralee June and Wildfire Marketing Solutions!

A Lovely Confession
is the second book in the Debt of Passion Duet and continues the story of Roe and Hunter.

When I finished A Lovely Obsession, I was kinda angry because I had to know what was going to happen to Roe and Hunter. I became obsessed with these characters and their story. I’ve never read something like these two books and I just need more of them! A Lovely Obsession and A Lovely Confession were both such amazing and addictive books!

Roe is such a strong character and she changed so much, in a good way. She knows what she wants and goes after him. Hunter on the other hand… He still feels so much guilt but he’s finally opening up to Roe. Their relationship is kinda f*d up but I love it!

I really liked the poetry in both books, it gives the books something extra. On top of that, I just really like Coralee June’s writing style. It’s so fast paced and addictive, I might’ve even read a few chapters at my internship… I highly recommend this series and I cannot wait to read more books by Coralee June!

The Hunter became the Hunted. After being left 5 years ago, Roe has continued to search for Hunter. When she finally finds him all of their old feelings come rushing back. As much as they both want to hate each other, they can’t deny that they still have chemistry and feelings for each other.

But it’s not just about them anymore. There are others involved and a war is coming. Will everyone that they love come out alive?

While I did like this book. I didn’t like it as much as the first one. Despite the fact that Roe became physically stronger, it had been 5 years and she was still weak when it came to Hunter.

It seemed he had moved on with his life, he was no longer stalking her, and he even said that he was happy and had a good life before she came back into it but she hadn’t done any moving on. I wish that he had still kept an eye on her, instead of occasionally asking Mack.

I did like when she would show her strong side, like when she didn’t give into his every request and stood her ground about not leaving. And of course I still loved their chemistry together!

I also enjoyed that the Bullets were all throughout the story (I love Blaise!). It was nice being back in their world and seeing their dynamic from someone else’s perspective.

I am a mega fan of Coralee and of course she delivers on another great series. Coralee just has a way of creating a story that totally grabs the readers attention and does not let up. The Debt of Passion Duet is no different.

A Lovely Confession is taking place five years after A Lovely Obsession. If you read ALO, then you know all about Hunter and his obsession with Roe. In turn causing an obsession in Roe, when he leaves. Now five years later Roe has spent years trying to find Hunter, who does not want to be found. But he underestimates her, for she will do anything to find him. That anything involves dealing with the devil, Gave Moretti.

Okay so this Duet is freaking awesome. Not only on the leads Hunter and Roe, but with glimpses of the Bullets!!! My fave series so far from Coralee. So if you are a huge Bullets fan, this is a fun glimpse of them again. If you are not, you will be. So overall, The Debt of Passion Duet was a great read, with lots of twists and turns, alpha males, strong women, and just really a great read. I highly recommend.

One of the very best duets I’ve ever read! This conclusion was EPIC. It really was a wild emotional roller coaster-there were several times that broke my heart, but Cora has a way of piecing everything back together in a way that makes me forget about it all. I would absolutely categorize this book as dark-everything about it, down to the angst, the violence, and the love scenes. I’m confident absolutely no one compares to Cora in this sense-she can write so flawlessly that it makes me want to live in the worlds she gives to her readers. The heroine has done so much growing, and it’s just an absolute beautiful thing. I could read this over and over and never get sick of it. An absolute MUST read!

This book definitely full of surprises and drama. Never a dull moment. You get the conclusion you've been dying for. Though the first story was a complete story, it still left you hanging on to know more.

Roe is on the hunt for Hunter 5 years later. I have to say it was a bit pathetic for a second. I wanted to shake her and punch him. He is resistant to have a thing to do with Roe, but can't ignore that physical attraction they have. Roe can see he loves hers, but won't admit it. There's more secrets to be told and more people standing in their way now.

The book will definitely answer all your questions, but keep you guessing along the way.
