Crazy Heifer (The Valentine Boys Book 2) Kindle Edition
Callum Valentine didn’t mean to eavesdrop. Then again? When a man is calling a woman fat right in front of your table, it’s kind of hard not to intervene. Especially when the town’s most beautiful creature ever is the one being called fat.
Desi just wants to be left alone. After an ugly divorce, she thinks she’s in the clear. Then her ex takes it upon himself to continue to make her life miserable, giving Desi no choice but to take it or leave.
In fact, her bags were nearly all the way packed when Callum poked his nose into the most embarrassing spectacle the town of Kilgore has ever witnessed. The moment he declares her his and off limits, everything changes—and definitely not for the better.
As if things couldn’t get worse than being called a pitiful, fat heifer in front of the hottest man she’s ever seen, Callum has to go and say that she’s his, and they have to play a game that she’s not quite sure she wants to be playing.
But before her eyes, things change. And suddenly the rules of the game aren’t clear. And they’re crossing boundaries neither one of them see coming.

But this is about Callum and Desi and from the start these two had chemistry. Mel Desis ex was giving her a hard time, Callum who liked
Desi on sight didnt like that sort of thing and stepped in and pronounced that she was his girlfriend. From there these two have a wonderful love, family helps out and protects Desi. Mels dad is dying from cancer and Mel just wont leave her alone.
Sad and funny moments make this a 5 star rating
Her books
I laughed, I wanted to slap Mal... (as did many people I am guessing), and my heart sang while reading this book. Everything was just so good and I loved that we got to meet Candy! I am excited to see how the next book goes. I am ready for more Valentine guys!
Desi had a confidence level on the very low range due to her douchebag of an ex but having a terrific best friend living back in town and developing a relationship with a new friend, Callum, truly helped. She was an honest woman with a heart of gold. Callum was a hard-working, caring man who fought against the trauma of his past and won. Together they made a fabulous couple and their chemistry was off the charts.
Lots of fun banter and humorous scenes can be found in this story but there are some very poignant scenes too, some that bring tears to your eyes and one in particular that, although beautifully written was still very emotional. In this story the brothers are so much stronger and stand together more, their growth is great to see. I am really enjoying this new series immensely.
Callum Valentine fell head over heals the day he came to Desi's defence against her ex-husband.
Desi has confidence issues a mile wide, no doubt shattered further by her ex-husbands cheating ways, but Callum lifts her up and helps her to see she can do absolutely anything.
Without a doubt this cowboy has one hell of a heart, always putting others needs seemingly before his own.
To be completely honest, I don't know how to word this review. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed this book, but I find I can't really express my true feelings without giving everything away.
I'm solely hear for Callum Valentine. Desi really wasn't my cup of tea, I felt I needed more story from her. I did however enjoy how easy going and smoothly their relationship went.
I'm in awe of LLV's ability to main relationships without drama. Oh there was some, but to me it wasn't a constant but became forgotten till it was once again in your face type drama. I find, especially with these Valentine Brothers, that their loyalty and love stems from their past and it's rare to come across characters so open. There is probably nothing their ladies couldn't ask them and they not get a 100% honest answer.

"I do what I want, when I want, where I want. As long as I do it before eight, because that’s my bedtime. -Desi’s secret thoughts"
This!! This is why I love this author's books. This is why I love this series, and this is why I will continue to read LLV. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Desi is Codie's best friend whom we meet in Herd That. Her vindictive and cheating ex-husband has been making her life absolute hell and to top it all off, his new fiancee is wearing her Grandmother's ring. Just as Desi is about to throw down, delectable Callum Valentine swoops in like the Knight in shining armor that he is to save her sanity. He's had his eye on her since they've met and he's more than wiling to show her that not every guy is like her ex. Even if it means helping her show up her ex by running in a marathon. With the help of the Valentine family, her best friend Codie, and her adorable father in law, Desi soon realizes that these people love her and that they are exactly what she needs in her life, surrounded by unconditional love. And oh boy, do they do a phenomenal job. The Valentine family is so supportive and the whole scene with the marathon gives major feels.
Callum claims her as his from the start and does everything to show Desi that he loves every curve. Swoon. This is the hottest of LLV's books and I was loving it. OMG, the heat level was off the charts. This book had all the feels; the heat, the love, the banter and the family togetherness make this a new favorite read. And I mean like top five, for sure. I adored it so much and I actually immediately started rereading once I was done because I really didn't want it to end. Ten stars, hands down.
I adore Lani Lynn Vale’s books and I like the fact that this is set in one of the towns that we’ve come to know in other series. We met Desi in the first book as she is Codie’s BFF and from glimpses in Herd That we knew that her ex was a twat off the highest order and a bully to boot but reading what she’d had to deal with made me hurt for her.
Callum hasn’t had the easiest of times himself (as you’ll know if you’ve already started the series) but he was a really good, caring, loyal guy and pretty much was smitten from the first time he saw Desi and set out to get to know her.
There was an attraction between the pair from the get go, the heat between them was combustible and I loved that he was open and candid about his likes when it came to her (and how she saw herself). I liked how comfortable they became together and the speed at which their relationship developed didn’t feel rushed or too much.
Some of LLV’s chapter heading had me chuckling hard!!!!
Crazy Heifer is a solid 4.5* read and a great addition to the series. I’m looking forward to Chute Yeah and finding out what Banks did that’s got his ‘lady love’ spitting feathers any times she sees him!!!
Desi has had a life that would depress even the hardest heart. A neglectful childhood, a horrible marriage, and an ex that could annoy even the sweetest disposition make even her present just plain awful. But when a way to get back at her ex, turns into a meeting with a cowboy so hot he could set the world on fire, things start looking up!
Callum is working hard with his family to turn their legacy into a future. Its hot, tiring work, but he knows it will be worth it. He's busy from dusk til dawn, but one glimpse of Desi has him wanting to make room for her in his life. Make her his entire life.
This book is absolutely a feel good story. Even with the drama from Desi's ex (you know with LLV, there is going to be a crazy ex!) this entire story just has a happy feel to it. Both Callum and Desi are working hard, both together and on their own, to live their best life. It's a beautiful story, that left a big ol' smile on my face!
Callum and Desi are perfect for each other.....if only his brothers and her ex-husband would leave them alone they could ignore the world and get on with their lives...but life is not that simple.
It may be a bumpy ride through verbal abuse and public shaming, surviving the 'Valentine Clan' meal times, sexy porn watching, jewellery stealing, christening the barn shower sex and Spartan training but throughout it all Callum has Desi's back and is her biggest supporter. Whilst the Valentine's are loud and crazy, they are also family and family comes first...every time. It will bring a tear to your eye when Desi realises she has finally found her family - the one she has never had but always craved...even Callum's nephews don't hesitate to defend her when Mal steps out of line. It was so good to see Mal finally get his comeuppance- I really hate that guy, you cannot believe someone as amazing as Malloy can have a son like Mal, so glad Malloy had Desi's back and protected her.
This was another sensory overloading, whirlwind visit to Kilgore complete with plenty of steamy sex and dirty talking cowboys - my favourite kind of visit! I cannot wait for more!
