Phoenix, AZ. Jesus told his disciples, “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.” (John 15:18). He also warned of those who were lukewarm or indifferent: “So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot or cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” (Rev. 3:16) Finally, those who are disciples will “have love for one another.” (John 13:35). Those are the three reactions that our evangelists experienced when sharing the love of Jesus on the streets today. Which should come as no surprise, since he told us these reactions to him ahead of time in scripture. Whatever the reaction people might have, we must press on in sharing the truth with the world.

The following report comes to us from Tempe team leader Sean in Phoenix, AZ:
On this hot Saturday, we headed out again to evangelize (from a distance) the people of Phoenix. We held up signs and crucifixes, both expressing God’s eternal love for them.

Lots of joy, anger and indifference (mostly joy and indifference) today in Phoenix. Reactions included many thumbs up, horn honks, a few middle fingers, a salute, a woman blew us a kiss, waves, a man crossed himself and a woman stuck her tongue out at us! It was a great morning!
Praised be Jesus Christ!
