This was such a fun read! Sara Ney writes some of my favorite banter and I was so happy to see that in full swing in Hard Pass! I found myself smiling and laughing throughout this entire book. I really enjoyed these characters and their story. Their meeting was unique and definitely had me laughing. I really enjoyed that the hero wasn't the typical jock and was more shy and reserved. It was a breath of fresh air. Overall, I really enjoyed this story! The humor was perfect, the writing was great, and I am looking forward to what is to come next!

    Noah is the perfect book boyfriend. He is sweet, funny, athletic, shy, naughty. He is also vulnerable and unsure of himself.

    Noah, unlike most of the athletes around him, just wants to play the game. He loves playing. What he doesn't like? Everything that comes with it. Yea, the money is nice. But he would rather live closer to his mama and his real friends and not be used for what he has. As such, he has a reputation for being a bit of a recluse. Only leaving the house when absolutely necessary or when his teammates drag him out. The years of being laughed at and told his face is unattractive have left him wary of women and their motives.

    Miranda is just out of college and in need of startup capital for her new business. Though it breaks her heart to do so, she has decided to sell her grandfather's baseball card collection.

    Noah, as a serious baseball memorabilia collector, contacts her about a rare card she has for sale. Their banter is adorable - both behind the screen and in person. And when they meet for the first time? I couldn't stop smiling!

    This book also introduces a number of entertaining side characters, and I am looking forward to a couple of them being knocked on their rear! (I'm looking at you Trace!)

    I love this author so I was excited to read this book. It didn’t disappoint, it was just honestly over too soon. I wanted more of this couple!

    Noah is a professional baseball player with self esteem issues after having been burned by so many women in his past.

    Miranda is a recent college grad trying to start her own business. To do so she is selling her grandfathers baseball card collection.

    She meets Noah online having no clue who he is. After trading messages and a few phone calls back and forth, they plan to meet up to trade cash for the baseball card, only Noah sends his d-bag of a friend instead, completely throwing Miranda off. She thought she liked him, but after meeting “noah” in person she isn’t so sure.

    I don’t want to give too much away but the rest of the book deals with the issues Noah has with taking a chance and putting himself out there and how Miranda helps him overcome those issues with the help of his “best Friend”.

    Lots of laughs in this book and a few great intimate moments as well.

    Can’t wait for Buzz’s book. He is crazy so I know it will be awesome.

    I thought this one was so sweet and Noah and Miranda were kind of absolutely adorable. If we’re being completely honest though?? Weirdly loved Buzz a little more than our main hero and so I just kept waiting for him to reappear.

    Regardless this story was funny, quick, and definitely a good baseball read. Plus the meet cute was *chefs kiss* I am definitely ready for the next in the series.

    Noah is a famous professional baseball player with very little self-esteem. He is an average looking man not a pretty boy like his fellow teammates. He was jilted to his face after a one night stand after he asked the woman if he could see her again. Her answer? "HARD PASS." He is also described in the tabloids as "Ugly." All this hits Noah hard and he vows to be a recluse and never date for the rest of his life. Enter Miranda who needs seed money to build her own business. Miranda decides to sell her dead grandfather's treasured baseball card paraphernalia to accomplish this. Noah sees the ad and texts her to make a deal. They make a deal and agree to meet somewhere. Noah likes Miranda very much and is fearful of her rejection when she actually meets him. So, Noah sends "Buzz" his womanizing, crude, socially inept teammate in his place; as "Noah."     I really enjoyed this 1st in this series. Our hero isn't your typical pro baseball player who sleeps around...... and I loved it! Noah is a little more insecure and keeps to himself. And he meets his perfect match in Miranda. She's a little reserved but also sure of herself and strong. Their meet cute is adorable and I loved the storyline.

    Sara Ney has once again knocked it out of the park with this sweet, funny, addicting romance.

    As always, her characters are real which makes them more endearing and relatable, who hasn’t felt insecure about rejection in their past?, but they are also never quite what you expect.

    As soon as you hear ‘famous sports star’ you would never expect Noah, a painfully shy man who was so hurt by the words spoken the morning after his last one night stand, that he is afraid to try again, for fear of rejection. Oh how the tables have turned! I adored Noah, though his lack of communication at times, was annoying, I understood why and fell more in love with him as every insecurity was revealed.

    Miranda was perfect, not the usual baseball groupie, she meets Noah online selling her beloved grandfather’s baseball cards to fund her new business, and although they haven’t met face to face, the connection is there immediately. Sadly when the time comes, Noah isn’t quite sure he’s ready for Miranda to meet the real him.

    This book knocked me on my backside with its ups and down, laughter, heartbreak and so much more. I devoured it in just a few short hours, and wished I’d taken it slower, so I could savour it longer. Amazing.
