June Norcross Scout Reservation
Autumn Adventure Camp
Held at J.N. Webster during Columbus Day Weekend 2020. Scouts and Leaders will participate in a three-night long weekend program starting on Friday night and concluding on Monday afternoon with full dining hall service. All Program areas will be open with Merit Badge and activity-based troop/patrol programming for all age groups. This is one of the rare opportunities to participate in the ATV program outside of Summer Camp.
Winter Resident Camp
Held between Christmas and New Year's Day 2020. Winter Camp is a unique experience where a Scout can earn merit badges and participate in activities that are not obtainable at a summer camp along with learning more about the Outdoors. The weather, activities, training, and overall camp atmosphere are vastly unique to any other Scout programs. This is not a Klondike, it is advancement and skills-based program that is fun.
Program Treks
This new initiative includes Staff lead, equipment provided programming, and Treks based out of JNW using the natural resources of Northeastern Connecticut. Canoe or Kayak the Quinebaug River Water Trail, Climb Wolf Rock, Learn to Sail on Goss Pond, or participate in the process of making Maple Syrup. Troops or individuals can sign up for one-day adventure-based events with meal options.
Camp Mattatuck
Fall Camping Experience
The Camp Mattatuck fall Camping Experience is designed to emulate all things we love about camp! The program will run for three sessions. Each session will run for six days, from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon and span over two separate weekends. The program will feature morning group activities such as: shooting, swimming/boating, dutch oven cooking etc. and Merit Badges in the afternoon. There will be a handful of Merit Badges added to this Fall Experience that are not offered over the regular summer season. This experience can be done as a Scouting Unit or as a provisional. Scouts who sign up for this program as provisionals will be assigned into a group that they will spend the week with and travel with for the morning group programs. This program aims to keep the Scouting Spirit alive in all of us.
Camp Workcoeman
Family Camping, SCUBA and Traditional Unit Camping Experiences
Come out to enjoy a camping experience with the entire family that features exciting programs aimed at both the Cub Scout and Scouts BSA levels. These programs will include special presentations, advancement opportunities, campfires and meals served out of the dining hall. Packs and Troops are also welcome to participate in traditional ‘offseason’ camping where they can reserve a camping area and facilitate their own program over a weekend. The popular SCUBA Certification course and shooting sports opportunities will be available on certain weekends as well.
