What you need to do today...

Today there is a lovely (but still challenging) video for you to do that combines active stretching with some simple yoga and Pilates moves.

If you prefer, you can swap this out for a cardio session such as a swim, run, power walk or class, or do this and the recovery workout - your call!

Remember that recovery , stretching and rest are as important as going nuts!

Your Tummy ATTACK Daily Article!

This is a fairly scientific article that really goes into some fantastic detail about how stress impacts gut health and gut function. CLICK HERE to read in full.

Everybody has different stress boundaries but modern day living and pressures make our body respond to mind stress as it would physical stress. Most of the things we stress about aren't life or death, yet the stress responses we have impact our long term health... How about we all chill a bit more?!

Your Tummy ATTACK Recipe of the Day!

Avocado and turmeric omelette

I tried this recently and I loved it!  I used more turmeric than the recipe suggests.

It's quick, simple and you can of course adjust the ingredients to anything you want!

Your Tummy ATTACK Tip of the Day!

Use your thoughts to manage temptation

Whenever you do a program like this or whenever you want to reach a goal, there are going to be times that other people or things (or office cakes) will come and test your will power, determination and commitment.

The only person that can say no to these things is you and the way you do that is from managing your thoughts.

Let's take the office cakes example, you want to eat them because you are thinking about them and looking at them! You think about how good they taste, you may even imagine you eating them, maybe you can even taste them in your mouth.

CHANGE THOSE THOUGHTS AND PICTURES!

    Tummy picture inspiration!

It wasn't so long ago where iconic women had bodies that would be deemed fat by modern day standards!

Here's one and when I saw it I thought, if this picture had been taken recently she'd probably be on the front cover of a celebrity magazine as someone who'd let herself go!

The purpose of me sharing these images is that I think the media has made being normal, curvy, womanly as wrong. Yes it's great to be fit and healthy and I certainly like to feel strong and streamlined, but if we saw more of these in mainstream media (every hour of the day as we do with modern day celebrities with the technology boom), would our body goals be different and would our body image improve?

    More tummy picture inspiration!

As I researched different women's body types and fashion and body trends over the last 100 years, it was really interesting to see how many women were in more material than they tend to be now, particularly in adverts and promotional pictures.

I'm not saying one is better than the other, nor that one is right and the other wrong, but if all you saw in the celebrity magazines were women who didn't have to be a size 6 to be on the front cover of a magazine in a skimpy bikini, perhaps women would feel better about themselves?

Be clear on your body goal and make it authentic to you!
