Sometimes I know what a character must do but I have no idea how he or she will do it. That's when it can feel grueling simply to write a single page! It could take hours! But every time I push through and stay at the computer, something remarkable or unexpected happens in the story. It's almost like the characters are testing me, to see if I'll stay with them until the end.(less)

Somewhere in the middle of my own imagination and listening to my characters, the story comes to life. It's invigorating! I also love the editing process. It's good to get rid of what you don't need and polish the gems worth keeping.(less)
