COWBOY (Unfit Hero Book 5) Kindle Edition
Recluse. Brooding. Man Whore. Rough.
Labels can set us up for success for failure.
I hate them, always have.
There is a reason for mine.
I dream of that reason morning, noon, and night.
Egocentric. Greedy. Cruel. Self-Loathing.
Labels shape the lonely woman that I am.
I hate the person that I’ve allowed myself to become.
I’ve hurt the only person that I have ever loved.
I dream of him every single night when I close my eyes.
Labels are worn like a badge, either in honor or horror.
They do not define me.
I am judged by them anyway.

About the author

Born and raised in the Central Valley in California. My husband and I met when we were still in High School. We were married a few years later. We lived in Oregon while he was in the US Coast Guard. After living in Hill Country, Texas for eight years we have made the big move to East Texas. We spend our time with our two teenage sons at all their events, screaming from the stands, as they swim their hearts out!

Hayley Faiman never disappoints.
Love that the Bratva found their way into this book.
This book has to be one of the best second chance at love romance novels I have read in quite some time. As the story went on and with all the twists and turns, Ford and Stephanie’s story is definitely not for the faint of heart.
There was a massive twist at the end of the story that literally made my heart stop. I didn’t know if I wanted to keep on reading because it was just that confronting to me.
But I was so thankful that I did because the epilogues were simply outstanding. Hayley is now firmly on my radar and I will certainly be reading more from her in the future.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

I so not a fan of Stephanie in the beginning, or even halfway through. I completely understood her reasoning for leaving & wanting more when she was only 18. But I don’t like or respect her for how she literally ran away, leaving Ford standing at the alter. For a lot of the book I thought she was selfish & a typical spoiled Hollywood scarlet who forgot where she came from. Then just when I kinda started coming around to her, she once again ran off. The best thing Ford did was go after her to LA, make amends & leave the final decision to her, but letting her know he was leaving & she wouldn’t get the chance to hurt him again.
Ford was one of the bestest guys ever. At only 18 he knew he what he wanted. The house he remodeled, the furniture he built, everything he did for Stephanie to give her the start to their future was beautiful. My heart hurt for him knowing how bad he wanted marriage & kids. He was so in love w/a woman for 17 yrs & couldn’t move on. Seeing him get it all in the end was the best feeling ever.

Ford was a major player, loved rough sex, and had been done wrong by his HS sweetheart. Well, surprise!! The girl is back in town. I didn’t know what to think of Stephanie. She seemed wishy-washy, and like she was stringing him along. Flighty as hell. But then I stopped to think of it and realized that her reactions to things were actually normal, human. When she had left Ford, she was only seventeen years old. She hadn’t had the courage to tell him that she wanted more out of life, she had big dreams. And I could relate to that. I would’ve run scared too. Now she’s back, seventeen years later, and she knows she still loves him. But, again, it’s hard for her to make the final decision of leaving her new life behind to be with him. Plus, she had some drama happening with her former fiancée who turned out to be a major douchebag. I could relate to that too!!! I’d be driving a man crazy with my going back and forth!!! I did love Ford for calling her out on it and leaving her alone to make her decisions with no pressure. He left the ball in her court and hoped for the best.
If there is one thing that drove me crazy with this book, and I’d shave like a twelfth of a star for it, it’d be the fact that there was a lot of whispering happening. Steph seemed to be whispering the most, but the other ones took turns as well.

Ford became a very bitter, hard man. He was alone except for his Unfit Hero friends and his horse Starlight.
Stephanie broke up with her Hollywood fiance and she had to come home to handle her father's estate. She ran into her high school friends and then Ford. The heat between them was still there and Ford wanted her to stay. Stephanie had to go back to Hollywood to handle an issue regarding her ex. While in Hollywood she discovered her ex was involved with the mob. She also realized where she really wanted to be. She wanted Ford and she wanted the simple life.
I just love the way Hayley intertwines all her characters from the previous books in the Unfit Heros series. She even threw in a surprise person from another series. She's is one of my favorite authors!!
