CALL FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE FEDERAL IMMIGRANT INVESTOR PROGRAM WORKING GROUP
We would like to draw your attention to a matter we feel is of the utmost importance to the health of the Canadian economy.
As you may be aware, Canada’s Federal Immigrant Investor Program (FIIP) was discontinued in 2014, and at the moment, the only immigrant investor program in the country is the Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP), which is currently suspended. The loss of the federal program has negatively impacted the social fabric of our country and prevented economic growth.
Foreign investment in Canada is a priority for all of us. When our borders closed due to COVID-19, we were reminded that Canada is a small country that is highly dependent on immigration for its population growth and economic growth. We are contacting you for your support as the IIAC aims to co-ordinate an alliance between IIROC dealers, in order to lobby the Federal Government for a re-instatement of the FIIP.
We believe now is the right time to re-instate the Federal Immigrant Investor Program and invite you to join us in building this critical initiative; we welcome your input in this discussion. If you, or other representatives from your firm, would like to be added to the IIAC Working Group, or you have any further questions, please contact Maria Nash.
