Summer Sangria recipes

With summer in full swing, it’s the perfect time to sip some sangria in the sun. Why not stray away from your go-to sangria recipes and change it up? Here are some unconventional sangria recipes that will leave you wondering why you didn’t think of them sooner.

Mojito Sangria

This mojito sangria is really a perfect combination of summer’s finest drinks. This recipe by Wine and Glue blogger Lisa Longley, offers the best of both worlds for those who love a good cocktail as well as a pitcher of sangria or two. The light and refreshing taste of mojito blends well with the fruity taste of sangria in this recipe. Perfect for convincing your friends and family that you’ve taken up mixology during quarantine.

Rainbow Sangria

Whether or not we admit it, most of us are suckers for an aesthetically pleasing drink. Quench’s Amanda Siddall shared this rainbow sangria recipe with us last year, and it is just as beautiful as it is tasty. It’s an easy way to get some nutrients from fruit while also getting a buzz, so what else could you ask for from a summer cocktail? It’s easy to make and will definitely be a crowd pleaser no matter how you choose to add some individual flair to it.

Frozen Sangria Margarita

Continuing on with non-traditional takes on sangria, this recipe from Delish also happens to be another fusion of two drinks into one. Nothing screams poolside relaxation quite like an alcohol-infused slush. Margaritas and sangria may seem like an odd combination, but this mixture is truly a match made in heaven.

Beer Sangria

Do you want the fruity taste of sangria but aren’t a big wine enthusiast? Then this is the drink for you! When I stumbled upon this recipe from Learning Patience blogger Corey, I was a tad skeptical as I’m not a huge beer enthusiast, but this drink still checked all the boxes for me in terms of flavour. It’s definitely a take on sangria that I never thought I would enjoy, and I hope you’ll be as pleasantly surprised as I was upon trying this quirky concoction.

Apple Cider Sangria

I’ll admit, this is my favourite recipe of all the ones I compiled for this list. I must admit, I’m partial to apple cider as my drink of choice any day. However, this recipe from cookbook author and How Sweet Eats blogger, Jessica Merchant, has a taste that is both light and sweet that I simply can’t get enough of. Make sure you let this one sit for a little while prior to serving and then enjoy!
