about
For this album (released via Time To Kill Records in September 2020) Across The Swarm have searched for a sound as authentic as possible with powerful guitars, powerful bass and a direct and natural singing.
The idea is to offer the listener a different sound that moves away from the Drum'n’Bass sounds of the first EP, at the same time showing the compositional growth of the band. The songs cross from fast parts in pure Death Metal style, to the groove and more reasoned and evocative parts.
Each song blends the various influences of individual members such as Misery Index, Dying Fetus, and Meshuggah, while Saini's drums keep the CD tied to the band's grind and hardcore origins.

The 7 tracks are recorded at Domination Studios by Simone Mularoni and Simone Bertozzi (Gory Blister, Rhapsody, Labyrinth) and mixed by Steve Wright at the Steve Wright Studios in Baltimore, United States (Dying Fetus, Misery Index). On drums, the project features Raphael Saini (Iced Earth, Cripple Bastards).

Carnosus have been a welcome addition alongside bands like Nekrogoblikon. At its core, you can’t take death metal entirely seriously - and here there is a playful edge (like, where else have you heard “deliriworm”?) to the intense, melodic rhythms and off-kilter vocals. Plus, a generous serving of bonus points for not only being a concept album, but one that expands the universe created in the previous two.
