Where we use our passion for writing to help others.
Somehow, the world continues to unravel…but National Novel Writing Month is here to empower writers and remind us that even in the darkest of days, we get to decide what to do with our time.
We get to create and give back.
Writers who sign up for The Mighty Pens ask friends, family, colleagues, etc., to donate money when they hit specified word goals, kind of like how runners get each mile of a race sponsored, but we’re sprinting with words instead!
Since 2017, we have raised over $40,000 for different charities, including the Malala Fund and Every Mother Counts. Plus, we’ve collectively written millions upon millions of words! This year, we are hoping to pass $50,000—and we hope you’ll help us get there!
Write
We write together during NaNoWriMo to meet our individual writing or editing goals.
Raise
As we add words to our manuscripts, we raise money from donors who have agreed to sponsor us!
Win
When we hit word and fundraising milestones, we gain access to fun, helpful, and even valuable prizes!
We’re partnering with We Need Diverse Books, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and a grassroots organization of children’s book lovers. They advocate for essential changes in the publishing industry, to produce and promote literature that reflects and honors the lives of all young people.
