Deep purplish ruby. Refined nose of red and black fruits, a good dose of oak (vanilla) and earthy notes. Tight and quite compact but the finely grained tannins have a grip that pierces through the intense fruit. Finish is dry. Already delicious and should evolve favourably for 4 to 5 years.
From pioneering winery co-op KWV, this easy, lightly oaked Chardy was sourced from various spots around the Cape, and partially (40%) barrel rested for 4 months. Yellow apple, lemon, melon and white peach with a buttery mid and a warming, short finish. Soft on the palate and with a solid dose of RS, this should be well chilled and drunk soon.
Invented to slake the thirst of German cyclists, this classic, low-alcohol blend of beer and juice is usually made with grapefruit. But Toronto’s Amsterdam Brewing Company uses a blend of blood orange and grapefruit juice, adds a citrusy house soda for an extra spritzy mouthfeel, and zests more blood oranges in-house, adding it at the last second in the brewing process for maximum zip. The formula makes for an ultra-refreshing beer spritzer, with a citrus aroma that pops.
Reveals ripe red and dark fruit scents overlaid with cinnamon, clove and a whiff of vanilla. Rich, thick blackberry flavours kick in on the palate with a splash of dark chocolate, lightly firm tannic structure and red currant/blackcurrant notes on the finish.
Dense purple in colour with a cedary, red pepper and blackcurrant nose; medium-bodied, dry, well-balanced blackcurrant flavour with nicely integrated oak and a firm tannic finish.
A must for all sweet wine lovers. Pale amber in colour with an intense nose of honey, dried apricot and barley sugar; full-bodied, sweet and unctuous but beautifully balanced with amazing length. Just a joy to drink.
Refined red and dark fruit scents with cigar box and a whiff of mint evolving to blackberry and red currant flavours wrapped in velvety smooth tannins; dark chocolate, fruit and spice on the well-integrated finish.
