This superb Syrah (and tiny bit of Viognier) is aged in a selection of French, Hungarian and American oak, about 30% of it new oak. It has a lovely, expressive nose of plums, boysenberry, figs, earth, bramble, peppercorns and an array of savoury and sweet oak spice notes. It’s vibrant and meaty on the palate with ripe plum, black fruits, dried herbs, savoury/peppery spices, liquorice and smooth tannins.
Grappa infused with macerated chamomile flowers and with the addition of sugar produces this ethereal and seamless liqueur that is incredibly balanced with no edges and elegant with beautiful intensity and a deliciously long finish. This could easily replace your evening tea.
Lots of flavour here, more in New Zealand style than Loire. Straw colour with a lime tint; a nose of passion fruit and mango; richly extracted with herbaceous and mineral notes adding complexity to the sweet almost-creamy fruit. Finishes refreshingly dry.
Medium ruby-purple. Sweet fruity nose (cherry, blackberry) lifted by a touch of spice. Intense fruity flavour, soft body, slightly warm on the tongue, narrow finish. Drink now with simple dishes, veggie pizza or hamburgers.
Expresses good depth of cherry-fruit on the nose with rich, concentrated dark bitter cherry flavour, a subtle trace of wood, a dash of vanilla and a splash of chocolate on the harmoniously integrated finish.
A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. Ruby-purple in colour, it offers a nose of black raspberries, cassis, and violets; it’s medium-to-full-bodied, well structured and elegant with a long finish. And it’s got a velvety mouthfeel. Great value.
From pioneering winery co-op KWV, this easy, lightly oaked Chardy was sourced from various spots around the Cape, and partially (40%) barrel rested for 4 months. Yellow apple, lemon, melon and white peach with a buttery mid and a warming, short finish. Soft on the palate and with a solid dose of RS, this should be well chilled and drunk soon.
