London Health Sciences Centre declared two COVID-19 outbreaks Tuesday and Wednesday at University Hospital.

The outbreaks — Wednesday in the ninth-floor orthopaedics unit and Tuesday in the fourth- floor general medicine unit —  were reported on the hospital’s website.

The LHSC website did not say how many cases are involved in the outbreaks.

“We are unable to provide comment beyond the publicly available information that is posted at this time due to privacy and confidentiality legislation,” a hospital spokesperson told The Free Press.

No visitors are permitted while the outbreaks are active and outbreaks are declared over when 14 days have passed since the last case was confirmed.

The affected units are closed to new patients “unless medically required.”

Staff in the affected units are not permitted to work in other areas of the hospital.
