Protecting Aging Investors through Behavioural Insights
This research report complements the Canadian Securities Administrators’ policy project to enhance the protection of older and vulnerable investors. The Report identifies behaviourally informed techniques dealers and advisers can use to encourage their older clients to provide the necessary information for enhanced investor protection measures. For example, the research found that a form, designed using behavioural techniques, resulted in a 23% increase in the likelihood that an investor would appoint a Trusted Contact Person.
