The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks offers an engineering development program to recent graduates from engineering programs. Our development program offers a fast-paced environment with exciting opportunities for goal-oriented, proactive problem-solvers seeking the required work experience to attain the Professional Engineer (P.Eng) accreditation. We offer formal and informal learning and development opportunities, rotational assignments and a mentoring program.
Participants in the Engineering Development Program are typically hired at the 04 PBE level ($53,471 - $74,753). As you gain experience and assume more responsibility, you will progress to the 05 PBE level ($59,886 - $83,058). Once you have received your licensure from Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) , you can progress to the 06 PBE level ($67,726 - $91,363).
What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Attain the experience necessary for your Professional Engineering accreditation
• Gain experience in a variety of assignments related to air, water and waste, and gain practical work experience applying provincial environmental policies and regulations
• Begin the program at a lower classification and progress based on your experience and skills to increasingly challenging projects.

How do I qualify?
Mandatory
• You must have graduated from a four year bachelor's degree in one of the following: civil engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering or mechanical engineering.
• You must have graduated (undergraduate or post-graduate) between May 2018 and Fall 2020.
