Telstra’s 5G network was switched on in Port Lincoln last week. Local residents are being encouraged to check with the local store to see if their devices are 5G enabled.

Port Lincoln, as well as Port Augusta, joins Adelaide, Port Elliot, Berri, Mount Gambier and Mount Barker in having access to 5G. Telstra aims to do a further rollout of 5G across the Eyre Peninsula over the next 6 months.

Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula (RDAEP) is pleased to work with Telstra to optimise this exciting opportunity for Port Lincoln.

CEO, Dion Dorward said ‘ Telstra and RDAEP have enjoyed a strong working relationship delivering improvements in telecommunications across the region such as collaboration on the Black Spot program. The 5G investment at Port Lincoln demonstrates the value that consistent collaboration can deliver to regional communities.  RDAEP looks forward to working with Telstra, the City of Port Lincoln and stakeholders to exploit the competitive advantage that this technology delivers, developing Port Lincoln as a smart city and expanding the local economy.’
