Red Flag (FSCU Pitbulls Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 173 ratings

No one ever accused me of  being a nice guy.

However, my cousin had no money for insulin so I borrowed from a loan shark. A few bets later, the whole campus thinks I've got a gambling problem, including my girl. A psychology major, she offers to save me from myself.

Her therapy leads to a whole lot more than it should but I got real problems, the kind that can get you killed.
The closer I get to making the draft, the more the syndicate wants their money back... with interest.
Note: Steamy, stand-alone, romance with plenty of swearing, heated scenes and a happily-ever-after.

Red Flag (FSCU Pitbulls Book 2) by Stella Marie Alden is a fully stand alone book that takes place simultaneously as Misconduct (Book 1) when we were introduced to Jackson and Star and in Book 2, their stories come fully alive and these characters really shine.
The nurturer and pleaser in me, just totally fell for Jackson. He's alpha yet flawed and vulnerable. His negative self-talk could be his downfall, but he doesn't allow himself to fall into that pit. Star is equally vulnerable but also all things good, kind, and sweet; just what Jackson needs to help him stay focused. Despite what they tell themselves, these two get done what needs done and still find ways to grow and develop as a couple as well as moments for hot, steamy sexy times. The emotions within these character's interactions are heartfelt and engaging, both the ups and the downs (of which there are many) and all throughout. These two are certainly put through their paces and tested! The college setting, football specifically, touches on the dangers of high-profile sports in that some athletes can be and do get taken advantage of.
Overall, a well-paced, well written book with well-developed characters that know what they want and often bravely go for it. Oh to be young again! Between all this as well as the variety of suspense, it kept me turning pages and completely captivated to the very end - Jackson and Star’s HEA.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

This is the second in the series of the FSCU Pitbulls, a college team in South Carolina. It tells the tale of another member of the team and the girl that catches his eye. The storyline goes over some of the same ground as the first in the series but from an entirely different perspective. The featured characters are much more developed and the characters from the first story are there but not in a distracting way. I read this in order but it feels so well put together that if it was read out of order it would still be entertaining. There are some racy moments but there is enough story around it to having you cheering from the sidelines!

Jackson is a wide receiver for the Pitbulls who wants to play in the NFL but for that to happen he needs to perform on the field and maintain a good reputation off the field. He has been attracted to Star for years but at that time they wanted different things but he has decided that it is now their time.

Star is a dedicated student with family turmoil. She has been attracted to Jackson from the moment they met, and that attraction has only grown stronger.

When Jackson finds himself in a bind while trying to help his family will it mean the end of his relationship with Star and his dreams for the future?

From book 1, Misconduct, this is Jackson & Star’s story. Best friends of Ryan & Kira, Star can’t escape Jackson, and it doesn’t help that he’s on the football team & she’s in the school band.

Jackson finds himself in serious trouble & can’t catch a break. The only light to his dark is his shining Star, and he continuously makes mistakes & hurts her feelings again & again. The push & pull between the two were frustrating, but Star couldn’t give up on Jackson, no matter how bad he treats her. Misunderstandings & miscommunications lead to these two trying to decide if being together is worth all the trouble.

I’m loving this series, and I also love seeing previous characters from other books involved with this team. Looking forward to the next one!

This is the second book about the Pitbulls football player. Jackson is on the football team and wanting to get into the NFL like his best friend Ryan in the first book Misconduct. He is interested in Star that is best friends with Kira also from the first book. They had meet in freshman year but Jackson was too full of himself and all the women that he could sleep with. Now as seniors they decide to get together and things are good until Jackson gets in trouble with loan sharks because of online gambling. He was trying to get money to by medicine for his cousin. His coach finds out about his troubles and helps. Star has her own trouble if he family with their problems but he's there for her. Will they find away to be there for each other always? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

The Pitbulls keep rolling and getting hotter! The story has plenty of twists to peak interest, lots of sexy scenes! What more do you want?

This is the second book in the FSCU Pitbulls Series and it did not disappoint. Jackson is the Pitbulls star receiver, with dreams of going to the NFL. Star is a pre-med student. They met in their Freshman year and were interested in each other but never connected. Now it’s their Senior year and Jackson is ready to get his girl, but can the girl help him with some very poor decisions he’s been making. The book starts slow but please hang in there because you will not be disappointed. It is so good. It is very well written with twists and turns galore.
I was provided an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is book 2 in the FSCU Pitbulls series by Stella Marie Alden. Star and Jackson have a 'one-off' meet during their first year and then no more. Star loves Jackson but does he love her? Jackson loves Star but does she love him? Now in their final year at college - Star has dyed her hair pink and is going to have a blast in her last year. This gets her noticed by Jackson and the to-ing and fro-ing of their relationship begins. But there is big trouble ahead. Jackson has got himself tied up with a debt collector trying to save his cousin by buying his insulin for him. Star wants to be a psychologist and when she thinks that Jackson has a gambling problem she agrees to help him. But as things head downhill, Jackson dumps her in order to protect her from the debt collectors. Our old friends from Busted Plays and Patten Securities rise to the occasion once again. With so much going on and the fact that they don't communicate properly with assumptions and misunderstandings between them will they get their HEA? Simply another winner from Ms Alden. Off to read book 3!!!!

Thought I’d read the second instalment as I kind of liked Star and Jackson in the first book but this one really touched a nerve for me as an insulin dependent diabetic myself. I’m lucky to get all my meds free in the UK but I know from American friends just how shocking the system is there for type 1 diabetics if they don’t have insurance and that you f people do lose their lives through insulin rationing. Thank you Stella for bringing this appalling injustice to the forefront in your book. USA readers, lobby your senators #insulin4all

Star and Jackson are like star crossed lovers. Meeting in their first year of college, they don't get together as Jackson feels Star is more than a one night stand and struggled with his feelings. Star refuses to be pulled into something that could devastate her. A few trials in their lives help bring them together, stronger and more in love. The chemistry is high and the way Stella has written the characters pulls you in and makes you hope for the same within your own life. Can't wait for the next book!
