   By morning, the whole town will know of our argument and I can hear my boss now. He'll say I was in uniform and as such, represented the county of Addison and the state of Vermont. I'll never be able to explain the look in her eye, the way she licked her lips, or the innuendo when she said, "Let's get out of here."
   All I asked was, "Your place or mine?"
   She had no reason to get so bent out of shape. After she cooled off, she showed me the email, asked about alibis, and I simply replied it was none of her business.
It was all downhill from there.


Hey Danni,
I know we haven't spoken in forever but you're the only one I trust. Someone is trying to kill me and I need to you in Middlebury, now. Don't call or text. Someone hacked my phone. I'm begging you.     The start of the book didn't feel so smooth to me so it took me a while to get into the story. It got better a few chapters in when the story unfolded a little more but parts of it still felt a little 'unexplained' but I'm not sure if it's cos this book is part of a series where the characters' dynamics and relationships are more clear. But anyway, that aside, it was an easy to read fast-paced story and I enjoyed the little twist in the story when the killer is revealed. And great that Cole and Danni finally managed to work out their misunderstanding/ issues and got their HEA.

    I received this an arc I was a good read. Slow at times I normally ❤️ Stella’s books books especially her suds and Sam series but this one didn’t quite get my attention don’t get me at the end it got good but the story just didn’t click for me

Cole and Danni have history but he went to the marines and she left for city life. But they still have chemistry now he's the local deputy and Danni still has her life in the city. This is a great whodunit romance. With well written characters and Danni and Cole getting a second chance at romance. Danger for our intrepid duo, with plenty twists and turns. Loved it!!
