What can I expect to do in this role?
In this job, you will:
• Lead operational research and analysis to inform the development of provincial policies
• Lead and coordinate the development and implementation of new operational policy and initiatives
• Review and analyze funding and delivery options assesses legislative and financial implications
• Make recommendations and provide advice to senior management on optimum strategies and approaches
• Prepare analytical reports, options papers, Treasury Board submissions, Results-based Plan submissions, briefing notes, implementation materials, and other program-related documents
How do I qualify?
Technical Expertise
• You have knowledge of policy and legislative processes
• You have experience with financial best practices to provide advice on multi-year planning and funding allocations
• You have experience in using policy and research tools, methods and techniques
Research, Evaluation and Analytical Skills
• You can review and analyze program funding and delivery options, and assess legislative and financial implications
• You demonstrate sound judgment, sensitivity and a high degree of political acuity
• You can assess the effectiveness of programs against Ministry initiatives and goals
• You can interpret and apply policy, procedures and legislation to assess a range of policy and program issues, and develop options and strategies for their resolution
Relationship Management and Facilitation Skills
• You have expertise in creating and managing stakeholder relationships
• You can consult and provide appropriate advice on policies, standards and programs to stakeholders
Communication Skills
• You can respond to issues, provide recommendations and prepare reports using standard computer software
• You can create and present options and recommendations on program initiatives
