Embraer that has recently reported its Q1 results mentioned the purchase of 30 E195-E2s from an unidentified customer. It is a sudden improvement as the manufacturer sold just two commercial airplanes over the past year.

It is unknown who ordered the 30 E195-E2s, but the deal was put forward on April 23 and deliveries will begin in 2022. It is speculated that the buyer is an aircraft lessor that is preparing for the revived demand and industry’s shift to smaller and fuel-efficient aircraft. In general, E2 jets can be described as high-performance and environmentally friendly, overtaking the older E170.

As of March 31, Embraer had firm orders for 272 commercial aircraft, including E175 and E195-E2. At the beginning of Q1, Embraer delivered nine commercial jets and 13 executive jets. The manufacturer says Q1 is historically its slowest time.

However, it does not lack optimism: “With some regions of the world, particularly the United States, starting to show better vaccination rollout and improved traffic in the commercial aviation and business aviation markets, the company is cautiously optimistic.”
