Exclusions: Service providers or staff who work for organizations whose mandate is to serve refugees and/or immigrants are not eligible for the awards.

1. Engaged Refugee Award – for an individual who is actively engaged in the community

Eligibility: London resident who came to Canada as a refugee

Must meet one or more of the following criteria:
• Demonstrated leadership skills in the community
• Volunteered as a desire to make a difference in the community

2. London Champion Award – for groups, organizations, and individuals who welcomed refugees

Eligibility: London residents

Must meet one or more of the following criteria:

For Example – Employers / organizations who:
• Hired refugees and retained them for at least 1 year
• Provided a work placement, internship or mentorship opportunity to a refugee
• Recruited volunteers from diverse populations and retained them for at least 6 months

OR

For Example – individuals who:
• Contributed to the well-being of refugees in their community (schools, neighbourhoods, organizations etc.)
• Acted as host families and supported the integration of refugees
• Sponsored refugees and facilitated their integration
• Advocated for refugees in the community
