ICK Dans Amsterdam

On March 30, the international dance competition AmsterDans was held at Stichting Multicultureel Podium Mozaïek, ICK participated as associate judge of the competition and conferred a scholarship to Beatrice Pellizzato and Silke Kloostermann for their performance ¿Are You Ok Up There?, running in the category Emerging Choreographers. The scholarship, handed over by Francesco Cutillo, supports the Italian-Dutch duo to continue their research in a 7-day residency at Space for Dance Art, attend the ICK-Company classes and rehearsals, and access the knowledge of the Médiathèque. 🎉Congratulations both!

”look, if you had one shot or one opportunity To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment Would you capture it, or just let it slip? Yo…” This February we bring the follow-up to the successful solo Shameless back to theatres! This duet-solo is all about looking forward: with the insights and experiences of the past. WE, the SHAMELESS, is a “heated solo for two”, where the Eminem inspired score is explosively retorted by two dancers- or two connected bodies that sometimes coincide but also have their own identity. Without embarrassment, they share this discord with the audience. Being SHAMELESS here means: unbridled curiosity about that which is radically different. The two performers merge into one collective body only to disintegrate again into two different guises that show divergent sides of the same personality. Tickets are on sale through the link in bio! This January, an intriguing ensemble embarks on a journey to explore the illusive elements of universal mysticism. Choreographer Shailesh Bahoran and his awe-inspiring cast made up of dancers from ICK-Ensemble, musicians from the Andalusian Orchestra, and the poetic vocalist Raj Mohan will start the new year working on our upcoming piece MYSTIC. ‘Reality seems to have this huge component that is nearly impossible to grasp. It feels intangible, like our senses aren’t equipped enough to define it. This evening, Thursday, December 19, at 9:00 PM at the Nuovo Teatro Ateneo in Rome, Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten will host an open class. As part of an event curated by Vito Di Bernardi, Full Professor of History of Dance at La Sapienza University, the choreographers will explore the body through the Double Skin/Double Mind method and an analysis of selected Pre-Choreographic Elements. This journey will lead to a revisitation of their repertoire, offering a profound insight into their artistic practice. Find a brief impression below!

The Intuitive Body and AI in dialogue on the future of humanity At the entrance of Salle de Concerts, a hologram body comes to light and learns, absorbs, rearticulates dance and music data of seven performance states to come, forming a dynamic memory of dance. On stage, a dancer embodies these states, controlling live layers of sound with his body, and brings along all performers in a current of desire, joy, suffering, and euphoria. As the lights fade, the dancer vanishes back into the hologram, which absorbs the data of his performance and reactivates it again for a next performance, in a never-ending upcycle. This immersive experience comes to life through the AI-Toolbox, developed under the PREMIERE EU research and innovation project. The AI-Toolbox is a cutting-edge set of technologies to analyze, synthesize, control and transform live dance data into sound and imagery. Between May and November 2024, an interdisciplinary team of artists and researchers worked to integrate the AI-Toolbox into NOUS, le RADEAU / WE, the LUST, which premiered on December 6, 2024 at the Philharmonie de Paris. A look back on Museumnacht Amsterdam 2024 An evening full of movement, inspiration and innovative discoveries. Together with a vibrant crowd we enriched Space for Dance Art with the interactive dance game Rôle De Dans (REPLAY) throughout the night. Followed by a preview of NOUS, le RADEAU by the ICK-Ensemble (supported by ICK-Next) which premiers in Paris this December at a sold out Philharmonie de Paris. Not to forget was the remarkable solo performance ‘Geresh Midam’ by Roshanak Morrowatian. After, we ended the evening with a performance of Emio Greco | Pieter C. Scholten's WE, the BREATH by the ICK Ensemble and ICK Next dancers. Thank you everyone for attending and we cannot wait to have you again soon.
