I INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP on KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER EXPERIENCES

«Women researchers innovate»

Call for presentations

Scientific activities and innovation are one of the main sources of progress and business development, which translate into wealth for a territory. An analysis of history shows that women have made important contributions in the field of scientific discoveries, innovation and inventions. However, the analysis of scientific activities and discoveries, aspects of R&D or the management of technological change tends to ignore the gender dimension.

Empirical evidence indicates that women scientists are less involved in the commercialisation of their research results than their male counterparts, and that the degree of disparity remains constant over time. However, the quality and impact of the results of female scientists are the same as for male scientists.

The aim of this Workshop is to make the role of women innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers visible in different environments and productive sectors, as well as to exchange and share positive experiences. To this end, female researchers from the main knowledge agents, such as universities and public innovation bodies and agents, are invited to present the results of their research transferred to society, institutions and/or companies. Specifically, the presentations can be framed within one or more of the following transfer mechanisms:

  • Research results carried out in collaboration with companies or institutions through contracts or collaborative R&D&i projects.
  • Products or services developed through NTBFs (university spinoffs).
  • Industrial and intellectual property (patents, utility models and software).
  • Others

The presentation proposals will be between 300-500 words in length, highlighting their economic and/or societal impact.  Among the accepted proposals, those that will be publicly presented in the virtual sessions of the Workshop will be selected.

The proposals accepted for the Workshop (with or without presentation in the Workshop sessions) will be published in a book of proceedings in digital format. A certificate of attendance and/or presentation will be issued to all participating researchers.
