Ladi Rosa talks about her “Personal Space” single and the greatest obstacle she had to overcome

We conducted an intriguing interview not too long ago with Ladi Rosa, an up-and-coming singer-songwriter/performer. During our conversation, Rosa talked about her “Personal Space” single and the greatest obstacle she had to overcome.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself and your music?

Ladi Rosa: I was born in Connecticut but raised in Florida. I have a younger brother who was born in Florida and both of my parents are Puerto Rican. I really love singing. There’s nothing better than to feel the artist through their words. I believe the love I have for music was all the inspiration I needed. And many different artists played their part in how I write and what I write about. The type of music I create would be more of a soft or love type of music. The process I have for creating is based on how my day is going and how I’m feeling that day; or even what’s going on in my life.

Who are some of your musical influences?

LR: Giveon, Summer Walker, and MGK.

Tell us about your “Personal Space” single.

LR: It’s about wanting someone’s attention on you at all times. It’s really what I would want for my future relationships. Also, I believe this could be a part of everyone else’s relationship. Commitment is so important in my life.

LR: This might sound biased, but “Personal Space” is my favorite song to perform. I think it’s just a great song overall.

What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?

LR: I would be doing what I am already doing, which is getting really good grades in high school; so I could get into a great college to better my life. Also, continue working my part-time job to save up money and better myself.

Does the Internet have an impact on your music?

LR: Yes, in a positive way. A lot of people have been streaming new music and have found an interest in mine. Which I am very thankful for.

What’s the greatest obstacle you had to overcome?

LR: The biggest thing I’ve had to get over was the waiting game. Just because it gets nerve-racking waiting for songs to be released ’cause you want to know what people think about your music.

What’s the best advice anyone has ever given you?

LR: To be unique and to be honest with what I’m putting out there for the world to listen to.

What would you say is your greatest accomplishment?

LR: Reaching #1 on the Billboard Break Out of the Week.

What’s your most memorable moment?

LR: When I won an award during my time at VocalStar.

What’s your motto or life advice that you live by?

LR: It is what it is—meaning stuff happens for a reason and there’s nothing you can do about it.

What advice would you give to an aspiring artist in your field?

LR: Just have fun with what you’re doing and don’t let anyone get in between you and your happiness.

What’s your favorite word?

LR: Happiness—because there’s nothing better than happiness in our lives.

Years from now, when people mention your name—what will they say?

LR: They would most likely say, “I Ain’t No Taylor Swift.” I say that because a lot of people already say this to me almost every day.

What’s your favorite movie or song?

LR: My favorite movie is the newest Ted Bundy movie, “Extremely wicked, shockingly evil, vile.” It’s really a great movie and you guys should check it out. My current favorite songs would be “All to Me” by Giveon, “Runaway” by AURORA, and “Red Wine and Jodeci” by Lil Skies.

Tell us something about you that no one knows.

LR: I am somewhat of a very picky eater.

If you could open a show for any artist, who would it be?

LR: It would be an honor to open up for Ariana Grande, Giveon, and Summer Walker.

Who would you like to collaborate with?

LR: I would love to work with Giveon. His voice is so amazing and I feel it would go great with mine.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

LR: Do things that I can be proud of and learn from my mistakes. Also, my father told me to never give up on my dream, no matter how hard it may be to accomplish that dream.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

LR: Do whatever it is that makes you happy in life and never give up on your dreams!!

Thanks for a great interview! Where can we follow you?

LR: Some places you could follow me on are my Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook @Iamladirosa. Also, if you haven’t checked out “Personal Space,” you can listen to it on Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube.
