Mostyn Law and 1-800-TruckWreck teamed up with Kandi Eastman and Majic 102.1 to make this #MothersDay extra special for one extraordinary Houston mom. This month, we asked Houstonians to nominate a deserving Houston mom in our $5K for Mother’s Day Giveaway. After receiving over 400 nominations, it was clear we had a winner in Chandra Scurry Brooks. Chandra and her husband Derrick are currently raising 8 boys (yes 8!) – 3 of their own and 5 nephews they took in after the loss of their mother. Chandra has struggled with the loss of both of her sisters, and the pandemic brought even more challenges with everyone living under one roof working and learning from home – not to mention cooking three meals a day for 8 boys! As if that wasn’t enough, Chandra is starting a charity dedicated to helping children who have lost a parent and supporting their caretakers.
