SJ Molloy, British Author of ‘The Luminara Series’ was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. She currently resides in Scotland with her husband, two daughters, and loving gun dog who is utterly spoiled. Along with writing and publishing romance fiction, SJ is completing her MLitt Creative Writing, Crime Writing and Forensic Investigation postgrad at Dundee University, Scotland.

SJ loves well-developed, multi-layered stories with moral complexities in various genre's. SJ will be splitting her time between writing and publishing crime fiction; namely: Tartan Noir, Mystery Suspense, and Psychological Thrillers along with various genre's of romance fiction, script writing, blog posts, and freelance creative writing.

The Luminara Series: Box Set Volume 1: Lussuria - L'amore - Lucca's Lust by SJ Molloy is delightfully dark and erotic. There are three books in this box set which is one of the reasons I love box sets is because you don’t have to wait for the next book. There are some stark themes in these stories with abuse, kidnapping and imprisonment which some readers may need to be aware of and be careful with. The first book starts out as little fluffy but as it goes on the writing gets stronger and more fulfilling. SJ’s descriptive writing gives us something that is gut wrenching, heart pumping and edge of the seat intense.

Together can they put the dark and harmful past behind and forge ahead into the light and sunshine of love and life?

The Luminara Series: Box Set – Volume 1 (Lussuria – L’amore – Lucca’s Lust) by SJ Molloy.
This boxset contains the first three books in The Luminara Series: Lussuria (Book #1), L’amore (Book #2), and Lucca’s Lust (Book #3).
I was drawn to the series by the beautiful covers and the promise of a “an emotional erotic heart wrenching story of lust, love and light.” Seeing that there were more books in the series, either published, or soon to be released, I snapped up a copy and dove in.
I love a great series you can sink your teeth into and get lost in- and that’s what I was hoping for here. But I am so sorry to say that I felt a little disappointed in the end. While the story was okay- it didn’t pack the ‘punch’ I was hoping for – and for me it just didn’t live up to the promise or expectation.
I really wanted to love this book/series so hard- but just couldn’t connect with the characters and their story in the way I had hoped. I also felt that the story was really drawn out and could have been condensed into one or two books. For the size of the books/boxset and all the words- there isn’t a great deal of development or the substance I would have expected- so I was left feeling disappointed. If the story had been condensed a little and had some ‘meatier’ development- then this could have been a really stellar read. There is a lot of potential here- but just failed to hit the mark for me.
Added to that, some of the dialogue/situations really felt forced, awkward, and stilted- they didn’t flow well or seem ‘natural’- which made for a bit of an unsettling read. I also note that there has been nearly six years between the previous books’ release and the pending new release. That’s a LONG wait between books- so I am very glad that I didn’t start this series sooner.
The story/series did get a bit better the further in to it I got- so I am holding out hope for the next books- and yes, I will be finishing the series- I always finish what I start. So fingers crossed.
I really did want to love this series so much more than I have (so far) and I am sorry but I just didn’t connect- but maybe it’s just me. Maybe next time I will?

The Luminara series is a series that I think everyone should own. I love books that make me feel and these books have definitely made me feel all kinds of emotions. I felt heartache for Lexi and her family for the abuse they had to go through. I felt hopeful seeing Lexi try to go on with her life and try to have as normal a life as she can. I felt love as Lexi starts falling in love with Lucca. A man Like Lucca is what every girl wants!! Now I am not saying Lucca is perfect because ..come on lets get real everyone has their faults but Lucca is damn near perfect even with all his imperfections.
S. J Molloy gives you a complete understanding of what Lust,Love, and Light is all about!!!
S. J Molloy did a great job about describing every feeling and emotion that her characters go through, There wasn't a detail or thought that I wondered about, that S.J Molloy hadn't already answered.
S.J. Molloy's eloquence with words will have you hooked on each and every one of these books and impatiently waiting for more. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in the series because these books are just that good!!!

Book 1 - Was a fabulous start to this series. Lokking at Lexi's life as whole and realising what she has came through is so heart touching. Watching her fall in love with Lucca was beautiful. The love they had for one another was something I haven't seen in a book for a long time. It was lovely.

Book 2 - Again, if I could give this book 10* I certainly would. I absolutely adore Lexi and Lucca. As expected when finishing book 1, Lexi' past comes back to haunt her. Much to her annoyance, Lucca gets security in place to protect Lexi from her childhood abuser that has been released from prison...he has one aim and that's revenge for Lexi killing his father.

This book tests Lexi. The poor girl gets over one hurdle only to face another five hurdles.

Book 3 - I usually really hate reading stories from just a different point of view. I usually get bored reading a story twice. However, with this story it gets under you skin and leaves you wanting to know more. Lucca's point of view is very good. It gives us an insight to why he is the way he is. Without giving anything away, I would never have thought he went through what he did.

This book also answers a few questions that was unanswered from the first two books.

It wasn't like reading the same story twice because they are both completely different and I think that's what kept me hooked. I am now going on to book 4 tonight.

I read a lot, like 3-4 books a week, and I enjoyed the first two books in this series. The characters are well developed yet not very believable, however since it is a romance I can over look it. The story is good and you find yourself rooting for both characters to find the happiness and love that they deserve. Having said all that I have nothing good to say about the 3rd book. It is repetitive to the point of frustration. In fact I quit reading it, and I NEVER not finish a book. The story starts off paralleling the female character's story, but some how goes off the rails and talks about events that weren't exposed. Also, as he is swearing allegiance, honesty and enduring love he is keeping secrets. Did I mention that it is extremely repetitive. All in all I will read the 4th book when it is released.

I met S J Molloy at a book signing and she spoke passionately about her books so thought I would purchase them and give them a read. As S J Molloy intimates in her synopsis its dark especially book one. Lexi has an extremely troubled past which you get an insight into and Lucca is there the Italian stallion with a heart of gold trying to bring her into the light. The story grips you and you wish to read more and make sure that Lucca excels at his duties and main aim. The first book did feel naïve at times in its writing but it really did improve in book 2 and 3. Kidnapping and imprisonment as well as abuse are sensitive subjects and SJ handled them with kindness and empathy. I am looking forward to the next book in the series because you write from the heart SJ. Well Done!
