ABISHA unveils a tropical afrobeat tune, entitled, “Time Alone”

ABISHA is a singer-songwriter from Devon, England. Not too long ago, she released a tropical afrobeat tune, entitled, “Time Alone”, via Spindle Music.

ABISHA – “Time Alone” single

“I wrote the song about needing to escape and have a minute to myself when I’m struggling with feeling down or overwhelmed. At the time that I wrote this, I would get overwhelmed really easily whether it was emotionally, socially, or just because I had a long list of things to do and didn’t know where to start. I think it’s quite a relatable feeling – when everything just feels too much – and I wanted to make the song uplifting in order to normalize it and make people feel like it’s okay to feel like that sometimes. We all do. It’s okay to take some time out, bury yourself in your covers, and just zone out and breath.” – ABISHA stated

‘Time Alone’ comes at a time where everyone feels the pressure of the world around them. Therefore, ABISHA offers solace that it’s okay to take a minute, reset or recharge, and be honest with yourself. Also, the artist-to-watch opens up about self-care and being open about mental illness.

“I feel that ‘Time Alone’ is a really uplifting song, despite it’s pretty serious and sensitive meaning. I love afrobeat songs, I think that afrobeat is a genre that you can’t not dance to, and I haven’t made an afrobeat song before. So it was something that I wanted to do for sure. I hope that it makes people feel good!” – ABISHA stated

In each song ABISHA shares with the world, she embodies a quiet self-possession, an element especially evident in her sophisticated yet soulful vocal presence. She’s having a very successful year with the release of her debut EP, entitled, “Scorpio”, and R&B jam “One Night”. Also, she had a collaboration with FootLocker EU for their #ShoesDontChangeTheWorld campaign.

“Over the past year or so I’ve thought a lot more about what I want to convey with my music. And so much of that is about empowering people through sharing my experiences. I think it’s so important for artists to be open because it helps other people to feel comfortable with themselves. Especially people who come from a place like I did. Where they don’t have anyone they can relate to or talk to. I’d love for my music to get through to people and help them understand that how they feel is completely okay. And they don’t ever have to hide who they truly are.” – ABISHA stated

‘Time Alone’ contains a relatable narrative, pleasing vocals, and tuneful melodies. Also, the uplifting tune possesses breezy Caribbean-inspired instrumentation beautifully flavored with a tropical afrobeat aroma, paying homage to ABISHA’s Jamaican roots.
