Lukas Milo Strauss

Lukas studied Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna. His research interests lie in the anthropology of bureaucracies and organisations, and include a special focus on transnational governance and the dynamics of the ‘professional encounter’. In his MA thesis, Lukas described the implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility practices targeting diseased sugarcane workers in Nicaragua. He is currently seeking to combine these threads in the design of his dissertation project, which will deal with transnational employment agencies brokering care work in the European Union.
