Here at the Tualatin Public Library, we love short stories. We’ve curated a great list of short stories that will certainly add color to your world this summer. These collections offer a bit of everything: something deeply personal, something hilariously funny, or maybe just head-scratchingly unique. We hope you find a cool, comfortable spot to curl up and enjoy some short stories!

Don't miss First Person Singular, a riveting collection of short stories that all touch beautifully on love and loss, childhood and death ... all with a signature Haruki Murakami twist.

In The Office of Historical Corrections, Danielle Evans zooms in on particular moments and relationships in her characters' lives in a way that allows them to speak to larger issues of race, culture and history.

Alaya Dawn Johnson delineates the lives of those trodden underfoot by the powerful and how they rise up. A vibrant new space to hone your craft

Do you enjoy working with your hands? Are you a creative type? If so, you'll love the new makerspace at the Tualatin Public Library. We are excited to announce that we are putting on the finishing touches! We will be offering a variety of programs and activities, ranging from 3D printing and sewing to carving and more. Keep an eye out on our social media to learn about the exciting opportunities coming soon.

Willamette Valley Chamber Music Festival

Reading isn't the only thing that colors our world. If you've missed being able to attend live music performances over the past year, you're not alone. Join us in our plaza for the Willamette Valley Chamber Music Festival. Styles include a blend of traditional and contemporary classical music. Music selections vary for each performance. The festival takes place on three Fridays (August 6, 13 and 20) from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
