Meet Lia Gutierrez, the tech services/administrative coordinator at Cornelius Public Library. She is responsible for processing orders for new materials so patrons have fresh items to check out.
What are you reading?
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari.
Why did you choose this book?
This book was recommended by a friend. I don’t read much historical non-fiction. I usually like to read anything about human psychology, and this book ties in with that. The author does a good job at explaining complex concepts in simpler terms.
What do you think of it so far?
I am enjoying learning about the evolution of humans and society. It has made me realize how actions made by humans thousands of years ago have affected the way we live today. It makes me wonder how the successes and mistakes people are making now might shape our future.
If you could have any author over for dinner, who would it be?
Jodi Picoult. I love her books and her novel Small Great Things is one of my favorites.
What meal would you make her?
Lasagna!
