The Government of South Australia, have announced that the State Budget 2021-22 provides Multicultural Affairs a budget boost of $2 million in 2021-22 for one-off multicultural grants.

The Government is committed to building stronger and more vibrant multicultural communities and are passionate about working in partnership with multicultural communities to advance, to celebrate, to expand and be stronger and safer together.

To pave the way for multicultural communities to strengthen capacity and community resilience for Covid-19 pandemic recovery, the Government is providing an additional $2 million multicultural one-off grants as part of the budget for a stronger South Australia.

The budget boost will enable eligible multicultural organisations to purchase new equipment and “building what matters” for the community including expanding facilities and upgrading existing infrastructure. The funding will also deliver better services by supporting high priority and meaningful initiatives to meet specific community needs and contribute to South Australia’s stronger multicultural communities.

Eligible multicultural organisations are encouraged to consider applying for one-off multicultural grants to support their important projects in 2021-22. Applications for Expand Together Grants are open now and close 31 July 2021.
