Renewables Not Gas for Geelong!

Tell the Victorian government to reject plans for a gas import terminal in Corio Bay, and invest in renewable energy jobs instead.

Geelong Renewables Not Gas campaign gains momentum with national support

Think global, act local. Never has that slogan been more appropriate than this year as Geelong people have thrown their support behind the campaign to embrace renewable energy and not gas.

Coming at a time when the world fast approaches a tipping point in climate change, it is clear that the campaign in Victoria’s second biggest city, to build its economy on renewable energy sources and jobs, has wider implications than just for Geelong.

Originally launched by Geelong Sustainability, the Geelong Renewables Not Gas campaign is now being managed by the newly formed ACF Community Geelong. As an ACF Community group, it is now supported by staff from the Australian Conservation Foundation, a national organisation with 700,000 supporters who speak out for the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the places and wildlife we love.  Geelong Sustainability continues to support the campaign’s goal to prevent the building of gas import terminals in Corio Bay.
