JAiRUS releases a jazzy R&B tune, entitled, “Groove”

JAiRUS is an LA-based singer-songwriter from Maryland. Not too long ago, he released a jazzy R&B tune, entitled, “Groove.”

JAiRUS – “Groove” single

“You the melody and feel, the beat in me. Do you know what I mean? A tempo that rides with ease. Do me like a movie, come let’s make a scene. Float right on by like the clouds in the sky, oh high oh my. Come and just be free like the birds and the bees. You know what I mean. Just groove tonight, no need for fuss or fight, that’s right. ‘Cause it’s just us tonight, so move the way you like alright.” – lyrics

‘Groove’ is a call-to-action for everyone to live a little. The groovy tune contains a relatable narrative, ear-pleasing vocalization, and soulful melodies. Also, “Groove” possesses funky instrumentation flavored with jazzy R&B, nu-soul, and ‘70s-funk elements. Furthermore, the song serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear on JAiRUS’s upcoming EP.

“‘Groove’ is inspired by one of my favorite periods of music—the ‘70s. I started with a beat, then added a bass line, and I’ve been grooving since. I always want to encourage everyone to be their most authentic best selves and stay groovy. As for me, an old soul, I wanted to make a new classic. When people hear ‘Groove,’ I want them to not only feel groovy, but transport them to their happy place.” – JAiRUS stated

JAiRUS grew up singing in the church, so music is deeply embedded in his soul. His goal is to create a space for everyone to be their best selves with each song he creates. Whether on stage in front of a crowd, alongside his community of music lovers, or playing through a stranger’s speaker, JAiRUS’s songs remind everyone to let loose and stay groovy.

JAiRUS calls upon the community he created at the church to strengthen the power in his personal sound. He went above and beyond his classical training at The Duke Ellington School of the Arts and the University of Southern California. Also, he studied voice alongside legends such as Ledisi, Patrice Rushen, Bobby McFerran, and Kenny Latimore. Not too long ago, JAiRUS received a degree in jazz studies.
