Habitat for Humanity's tithe program supports carefully chosen
building and shelter projects that provide housing worldwide. A tithe is a voluntary contribution, usually supporting a religious institution, based on one-tenth of one’s income or wealth. Austin Habitat's tithe funds allow families to stand on their own, to build
stronger and more stable communities.
Our CEO, Phyllis Snodgrass, signed up for a
Global Village Build in Vietnam. She said, "It was hands down, one of
the most amazing experiences of my lifetime." She returned from that build
dedicated to increasing Austin Habitat's tithe commitment.
This year, Austin Habitat hit the milestone of $1,000,000 in
lifetime tithe contributions and was awarded the Sam Mompongo Award by Habitat
for Humanity International.
