Before talking about food, I'd like to take a moment to send my thoughts to all those affected by the floods in Germany.
I'm sure you've seen some of the footage and my hometown is one of the areas that's been affected. Many people lost their lives and their homes, while countless others have been injured and many independent retailers have lost their livelihoods. The rate at which we're seeing the effects of climate change is quite scary and it's really strange to think that I was there just a couple of months ago.
I'm very fortunate that my family wasn't directly affected by the floods and for that I feel blessed, but seeing the area suffer so much has really hit close to home. My heart goes out to everyone that's been affected by the disaster and if you're among them then please know that my thoughts are with you. ❤️
I don't want to gloss over the tragic events that have happened but I will end this month's intro on a lighter note, this is a vegan foodie newsletter after all...
For a start, I can't believe how fast the summer is going! It feels like June was yesterday but tomorrow it's going to be August! While the weather has been a bit up and down, I've tried to make the most of the sunny days recently and the relaxed lockdown rules in the UK - while still being careful and being safe of course.
We've come a long way from only being allowed to go on one walk a day, hopefully, the rest of the world will be opening up carefully and safely soon as well.
With another month or so of BBQ weather, you might be happy to hear that I was recently featured in the Metro alongside the amazing Earthling Ed and Loui Blake. Together we've given some great tips for having a delicious vegan BBQ. Click here to read it!
Also, this month's newsletter is quite long so the bottom might be clipped. Be sure to click 'View entire message' if you can't see the Useful Links and Exclusive Discounts!
