The European Covid Certificate is a digital document to facilitate travel within the European Union and make travelling safer. Here the most important information about this digital passport.
What is the EU Digital COVID Certificate?
It is a free document that accredits a person’s status with regard to the disease and facilitates mobility between the European Union member states.
What does the certificate prove?
It certifies that a person:
- Has been vaccinated against COVID-19.
- Has tested negative in a diagnostic test.
- Has recovered from COVID-19.
How and where can I get the Covid certificate?
You can find it on La Meva Salut. This is the personal digital health space where residents of Catalonia can access the Catalonia Health System online. The certificate can be found in the “Informes i resultats” (Reports and results) and “Vacunes i certificat COVID digital UE” (Vaccines and EU Digital COVID certificate) sections.
You can also obtain all three certificates at Primary Healthcare Centres in person. The vaccination certificate can also be requested at the vaccination centre when you get vaccinated.
Is the certificate mandatory to travel around the EU?
It is not mandatory, but it does facilitate mobility within the EU by reducing procedures and eliminating any restrictions on access or mobility.
