Action or Inaction - The New Generation”
This year, the second TRANSPOESIE event focuses on the new generation. Young poets from all over Europe will read their poems and discuss engaging poetry and impact on society through poetry.
We bring to you six different voices, ideas, and attitudes towards life, with topics such as freedom of expression, racism, inequalities, minority issues, and much more. Each poet shares their work in their native languages, with translations available.

Action or Inaction - The New Generation

Celebrate poetry from around Europe and discover poetry through European cultures. Hear from the following:
Miss Raisa, Spain/Catalonia - a 24-year-old psychology student, singer, influencer, model, and communicator. Raisa writes about different topics that touch her closely, like racism, freedom of expression, stereotypes and making visible certain aspects that she experiences in her day-to-day life. This openness to talk about such topics also attracts many followers on TikTok where she currently counts 500,000 from around the world. A real multi-talent who addresses issues that need to be shared via different mediums.
Len Pennie, Scotland - a poet who writes predominantly in the Scots language. She is passionate about the promotion of minority languages and the destigmatisation of mental illness.
Jonas Gren, Sweden – a writer born in Stockholm who engages with many different topics and forms. He has published five volumes of poetry, contributed to multiple poetry anthologies, and established a ‘telephone service’ that allows people to phone in for a poetry reading.
Leire Bilbao, Basque Country/Spain - after being involved in bertsolaritza (oral improvisation) when she was younger, Leire Bilbao made the leap into the literary world with her first book of poems. Her poems also became songs, and she has also written several lyrics for different albums.
Marius Burokas, Lithuania - a poet, freelance writer, translator, author of four poetry books, and editor-in-chief of the Lithuanian literature “Vilnius Review” online magazine. He lives in Vilnius and has been a member of the Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 2007 and the Lithuanian Association of Literary Translators since 2013.
