Dear Roger,
Have you already read the latest report published by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, i.e. the IPCC? Some of its data are very worrying, such as the consequences of not limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2030.
One of the effects indicated in the IPCC is the increase in famines due to the impact of the climate crisis. Among the most affected countries is Madagascar, which ranks first, because 75% of its population is suffering from hunger due to droughts caused by the increase in temperature.
As Catholics we cannot remain impassive before this tragedy, we are called to promote change. A few days before the start of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), we invite you to raise your voice alongside Pope Francis!
The "Healthy Planet, Healthy People" petition has already been signed by hundreds of thousands of people across five continents, what are you waiting for?
